OG Sim Ti Forgiveness vs Stealth 2+ Fairway

I have a Stealth 2+ 4 wood and generally like but heel strikes seem to be extremely punishing. I play a draw, but if I catch one on the heel it is a push cut that goes hard right. 
 

Is the OG Sim Ti any more forgiving in this regard? Considering picking one up as everyone seems to love that fairway.

OG Sim FW is the GOAT. I dont know that it is the most forgiving FW since it is ultimately built to kill and annihilate spin.

 

The Stealth + and Stealth +2 both spun more than the Sim for me, but I am a high spin guy. 

 

That being said, OG Sim has a pretty big footprint and is pretty easy to hit if you have some speed.

 

I'd say pick one up for $125-$150 , worth a shot

Playing the OG Sim 5W turned down to 17. It’s a beast. It has none of the properties of a 5W lol. It goes about as far as my Stealth + 15*
 

picked up a TSR2 7W to be more 5W-ish. Not sure how I like it yet.

I ordered one up off the BST to try for myself. I don’t use 3 wood from the fairway often so something I can be confident from the tee with on a tight hole is really what I’m looking for. I top out around 115 mph with driver so speed shouldn’t be a problem! 
 

With a heel strike basically being dead with my stealth 2+, I don’t trust it if there’s any trouble on a hole. I have yet to find a fairway wood I like enough to keep in the bag for more than a season so maybe this will finally be my unicorn!

I've heard many prefer the OG Sim and Stealth+ over the Stealth 2+. Rory and Viktor still have the OG Stealth+ in the bag.

It's been a while since I put swings on a sim ti. I remember it being fairly easy but I never spent enough time with it to see how heel strikes behaved.

 

I did spend more time with sim2 ti, which was easier than sim ti. And I've spent a good amount of time with s2+. 

 

Of all 3 heads, s2+ was the easiest to hit for me. It launched higher and retained spin best. However, it got KILLED on heel strikes. Sim ti may be better there. Sim2 ti wasn't so my guess is that sim ti won't be either. What you may find is that sim ti may be weighted where you avoid the heel more easily. And that could be all the difference you need.

 

Good example on this was last year's rogue st ls. Easily one of yhe better 3ws I've tried. But as time wore on, I could not stay out of the heel and it got killed on heel strikes as well. Through all the 2023 fwy testing I did, I saw that there was just something in the weighting of the Rogue that didn't suit me and exacerbated me getting into the heel. Same shaft but cobra aerojet and I'm hardly ever in the heel. Same shaft and s2+ and not in heel much. So far, Same shaft and paradym 3hl and I'm not in the heel. 

 

Sometimes it is the Indian can't aim AND the arrow is bent...
