Reattaching a pocket

I've yet to find a bag that I think is as well designed and built, on balance, than my almost 20 year old Nike Sasquatch. It has its shortcomings, particularly in its fit on a push cart or electric caddy, but the pockets, their locations and size, the soft, yet durable feel of the material has been great. I bought a couple of bags awhile back, but quickly returned both of them as they didn't equal what I already had. I've been shopping again lately, but what I've liked hasn't fully satisfied me enough to bite.

 

A week or so ago, the valuables pocket started to detach. Strangely, it's not sewed into the main body of the bag. It seems to have been glued on instead. Weird. Amazing that it's lasted all these years. I tried to attach a photo that shows how the bottom of the zipper has separated, but it's just showing up as a solid colored image. I'll fix this somehow. The top of the zipper has done the same. So it's about to fall off altogether.

 

I brought it to a luggage repair place, but they told me they weren't confident they could adhere it well because it was glued on and there's no real way to sew it in securely. And they wanted $90 to give it a try. Not worth it for a 20 year old bag. They were patient and helpful and I appreciated their honesty.

 

Looking at some fabric adhesives, Gorilla Fabric Glue, Tear Mender, et. al., I wasn't so confident that they can work on these materials. I may end up trying one or two to see if I can get lucky.

 

Any thoughts on adhesives that may work for this purpose?

Maybe a cobblers glue that's heat activated but sounds like the bag is just falling apart at this point.
