KBS tour 90 hitting lower than DG S300

Irons I use are at in-laws until December. In the meantime i have been perusing and found a deal on some irons that I fancied.

Boom i bought them. Took them to the range and hit them much higher and with more speed than i hit the clubs that are at my in-laws... Now this is a good thing i understand that the part am having trouble wrapping my head around is how. A lighter shaft didnt produce more height and speed? 

I stink and post low 90's scores (never broken 90). SS with 6 Iron is if i remember correctly say 88-92. 

 

The clubs that are at the in-laws are 

Hogan 2018 edge irons w/KBS tour 90 shafts. 

 

The clubs i bought are 

Ping iblades with TT DG S300 shafts ( were advertised as regular Stock shafts). 

 

Irons both have the same lofts and are both standard. 

 

Data I have been able to gather is as follows... 

using top tracer at local range... 

 

iBlade 6 iron 

Balls speed 124 

Launch angle 21*

Descent angle 50*

Total yd 171

 

Hogan 6 Iron

Balls speed 115

Launch Angle 16*

Descent angle 36*

total yd 175

 

Ok so as far as the iblade shafts go, they have no bands and there was no silk screen from manufacturer that i could see under grip. I have received information via @dokex and 2ndswing CS that the shafts were built with DG S300. I have measured the shaft steps and they are 1.75". They also feel much heavier than i believe my KBS to feel. 

I ahve been told the COG on the iBlade is lower than the Hogan so that will affect things. 

 

AnyHoot i was not expecting to really be able to hit these irons as i did especially knowing they may have S300's in them. I wanted to try iblades and see if i could hit them straight and get them off the ground and well damn-it i could... ( just not sure i'll keep them)....

also last fitting i had back in '19-20 i was fit into recoil 95 F3. I just went with the KBS b/c hogan didnt offer the recoil in that weight

You have plenty of swing speed for the iBlades, and your efficiency shows that. 
Those Tour 90 shafts are for slower swingers like me, 80 mph 6 iron. 
I think the shafts are a better fit for you, that’s why you are hitting them more efficiently and higher.

Might be flipping . KBS 90 use to fly in the clouds for me. KBS is 80-90 gram shaft while the S300s are 127

The good, 127g S300 heavier shafts can help improve the tempo and transition.  Whereas KBS 90 are either 95g "R" or 102g "S", still light not helping tempo or transition.  Most people, including me, tend to swing too hard with lightweight shafts.

 

iBlades are designed to get the ball UP; Hogan's not so much.
