What's the best way to flatten the shaft?

Get the hands further down, sooner and then turn, that's how you shallow.

Won't work if you go to right bend to soon, won't work if you direct hands back to ball either.

Peak hand speed happens closer to P6 than impact.

Won't adapt to it overnight either because golf instruction indoctrinates the exact opposite.

We are told "get sequencing correct" and it's roughly interpreted:

shift->turn-> peak hand speed->peak club speed,

This promotes an exaggerated P4 with "gravity drop" which is not terrible but also promotes early right-side bend which is death and all kinds of path & face issues.

Better interpretation is:

shift->peak hand speed->turn->peak club speed.

I can hit to peak distances with less effort, better balance & grace and it's really not a swing change it's just a change of perception. I'm 60 and soft as a marshmallow, driver hovers around 105-110 peak. Saw a middle age, paunchy guys few years ago, could not understand how he did it, guy was at tour speed, now I do.

As a former steep guy, focusing on not taking the club back inside and flat has shallowed me out immensely.

My feel now is an outside takeaway, which for me really just means hands just inside the shoulders and clubhead outside the hands.  Get the hands vertical and high instead of behind my body.  Then as a rotate the arms and club almost fall/get pulled into place with much thought.  Shallowed my out to. 2-4 down aoa and about 1 degree in to out path stock.

Shoulder rotation steepens it.  That’s why Nicklaus said keep your back to the target and Rose said feel like you stay closed until p6.

Shoulder rotation ≠ shoulder turn. Lead  shoulder internal rotation and trail shoulder external rotation are both shallowing moves.

The DIRECTION that your "along the shaft pull" is THE most underrated component by far. Just watch the Michael Jacobs episode of the Travis Fulton Pod/VideoCast.

I read somewhere:

The second torque (Beta) is the movement of the club into a flatter position as you get halfway through the downswing. If you tend to get too steep or over the top, here's where you want to focus. In a good downswing, the lower body shifts left and then the upper body turns and pushes into the left arm, which pitches the club into a slightly flatter, more horizontal position. From there, you can turn hard and use the right side of your body to produce extra speed. As your hands move closer to your body near impact, the club whips in line with your left arm—the bit of turbocharging at the bottom that tour players use to get extra distance.

I was talking about the Global Beta....it was very early in the game....lucky I got to use any terminology in that article.

Turns out, it's quite a bit more complex than that, "Chunk."

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
