Is there a difference between the Ping Alta CB 55 shaft for the Ping G400, G410, G425 and G430?

I have used a Ping G400 Max 9* with Alta CB 55 stiff shaft for several years. Age is not in my favour so I recently picked up a G430 10.5* with Alta CB 55 regular shaft as it was giving me slightly better numbers in a fitting than the stiff shaft. Good swings are longer but bad swings can be a bit wild so thinking of going back to a stiff shaft. I know there is a different adaptor from the G410 but apart from the adapter and graphics is there a difference in the Alta CB shaft used on the G400, G410, G425 or G430 or would they all feel/play the same in the G430 head?

If the weight of each head is the same, then would most likely feel the same for the shaft.  I think I remember reading a year or so ago that with the 425 release, Ping made the Alta just a little stiffer than in the past.

Thanks NCDuffer for the feedback. I had not picked up that the shafts may be a little stiffer from the G425. Ping website shows all (G400 Max, G410 Plus, G425 Max and G430 Plus) at 206g head weight.... I presume this includes the std weight in the heads.

 

I have used the appropriate stiff Alta shaft in each model above, except G425 Max, and they appear to me to play differently. Even tried the Alta stiff shaft from the G425 in the G430 head and, to me, it played differently again... so I am confused!!

I am fairly certain that the Alta 55 has remained the same since it was introduced with the G line with exception to the cosmetics aligned with each new release (CB versions are simply an 8 gram plug in the butt end).

I have the Alta CB in 55 regular and in 65 stiff. One is red. One is gray. No idea if the cosmetic differences are due to weight/flex, model year, or if the profile was changed as well.
