YIKES! Hogan sets

Just for fun...a couple of other Hogan wedges:

top pic - Riviera 50*, 5008 gap on hosel, Hogan Apex shaft, band has no flex marking, & a Hogan grip;

            - Apex SI, "forged" on hosel, Hogan Apex shaft, band has 'Spalding' & 4 flex, & a Hogan corded grip;

            - Colonial 60*, "forged 6006" on hosel, Hogan Apex shaft, band has no flex marking, & a Hogan grip similar to the Riviera;

            

middle pic - 2 "black chrome" Carnoustie, a 52* w/"5205 gap" on hosel & a 56* w/"5612 sand" on hosel, & both have similar Hogan Apex shafts (no flex on bands) w/similar Hogan grips;

 

last pic - Tour Series II  High Center of Gravity 61*, "forged" on hosel, shaft band says "shaft by Brunswick Golf Co., Made in USA, & R flex, grip is a decent Golf Pride.

 

any info on when made/available would be appreciated...oh, I have a large number of "Sure Out" (only 1 "Sure Up") & Special SI wedges, any idea how to figure out the years (if at all possible)

I agree, you would be surprised what you can fit in a car. My personal record is 16 sets of hickory clubs in the back of a Toyota Prius hatchback. Don’t sell yourself short @Orchardist.😀

that is pretty good...I don't know (hopefully I'll never find out.....unless of course, someone really wants some playable/collectable sets or clubs - I'll drive within reason)....however I might be able to put more in a Honda Fit - the back seat folds forward to give ~6' of length & the "roof's" the limit 🤣

The ones with beryllium stamped on the hosel were the second batch. The one in my bag has a pinned hosel and the back up nothing on the hosel, both first batch. Special SI. on the sole. 56 degree, 11 degree bounce. Hit a nice one from about 65 yards out today to about 6 feet. Stopped like it hit glue. Missed the putt.🙄

have no idea what is meant by "second batch"...when was the first batch & when was the second....was there a third?

They made some not knowing how they would sell. They had to make more. The second batch had Berylium stamped on the hosel. The last of the second batch had the loft stamped on the back and had a narrower sole than the first batch

To me, aging myself here, the Beryllium copper was the best Hogan wedge of all time.  Cleveland was a strong wedge  at the time too.  I remember some real deals on the Carnoustie and Riviera wedges.  I dunno, I really miss the flavor of golf at and before that time.  I loved all the family owned courses and how personal it all was.  I still love playing in a good horse race but the money involved is much less now than decades past.  I shouldn't look at this old stuff...sniff..
