Tad Moore Barn Find insert.....curious on what material this is?....round the room...Beuhler?

That insert doesn't look original, and looks to be aftermarket.  I would guess it is copper judging by the patina that has developed.  This is a photo of an original insert.

Update: Found my answer, it is 99.9% copper, this site rocks! I actually found a thread here with Tad Moore himself chiming in. Apparently he used different inserts on these (mokume, copper etc)

I've had two Barn Finds. Both were numbered ? / 50 and had a black finish with the Mokume Gane insert. None with the exact the same damascus type pattern. To me it looks like someone stamped BARN FIND on a Tour Classic.

I currently have a Tour Classic and have seen this putter on eBay. It looks to me like a standard Tour Classic with different paint fill and a different milled pattern on the inset vs. a less aggressive fly milling. Looks like the heads milled by Bettinardi.

If I had thought it was a legit Barn Find, I would have bought it four days ago.

So what are your thoughts on these "Barn Finds" with no (? / 50) then? All il-legit? Except yours? Or did Tad do some different applications and one-offs as Tad himself has mentioned on this site.

And you couldn't have bought the above (original) putter currently on Ebay 4 days ago because it wasn't available. It's on a 10 day auction that expires this weekend. I've been following it.

Yes it is in my watch list, but it looks like the seller canceled the original auction which started at $175.00 and resisted it at $500.00. Something to me looks "off" with the insert and not just the milling, but the fit. I could be wrong.

That’s a tour classic that was previously modified with Spryevo (spelling?) insert and stamped aftermarket to appear as an original barn find.

Point was that putter was modified aftermarket to make it appear to be something which it was not, to drive up perceived value. That being stated, if it rolls well for you and you’re happy with it, 🤷‍♂️ then enjoy and play well.

There must have been more than 50 of the “Barn Find” with the copper insert.  I had one I picked up in a pro shop in Ohio in the 1990’s some time.  I sold it and kept my old 8802 however.
