Any pickers/sweepers playing i230 or 0317T?

Im going for a fitting on Saturday and putting a list together of what I want to try. I’m really shallow, AoA about 1 degree down, sometimes less. On paper these should be a good fit for me and what I’m looking for but I’m a little worried about the higher bounce and turf interaction. Fitting will be off a mat indoors. I know outside off grass would be better but it’s winter in Wisconsin and I have a free fitting I need to use before April. I don’t want to fall in love in a fitting bay and then have issues when I get outside in the spring. I’d appreciate if any fellow sweepers can share their personal experience with these!

Haven't tested Ping i230, but did test PXG 0317T while on vacation; test graphite shaft was too whippy, plus shaft options are limited. Both heads are quite similar in bounce specs, not what benefits a picker or sweeper.

I typically pick or scrape turf; wouldn't do well with either of those heads. High bounce has my club head all but bouncing into the ball = missing thin. My 2i has -2° of bounce, 3i & 4i are near 1°, and PW is progressive 10+/- which aligns nicely with my 52/12' SW.

It's pouring here in SOCA... bummer.

I am more shallow/sweeper and played i230 last season. Worked great for me in most conditions except turf interaction started to get a little clunky when the Texas heat picked up and the ground firmed up. The thicker soles were excellent on wet days and at some of the resort courses in the area. This year decided to go with a combo set in i230 + Blueprint S since the turf interaction is excellent...If I wasn't playing on super firm muni courses in TX I probably wouldn't have been looking to make a change this year though...i230 were excellent indoors off mats

I am am a sweeper. Last check on Trackman I was 2 degrees down and low point was 2 inches ahead with 7 iron. Play in all types of conditions from sloppy to rock hard. Theses irons are money. If you are a dead hands sweeper these i230 irons are all you could ask for.

I'm pretty shallow and just take small divots with short irons.

The i230s have been awesome for me. Long irons are very easy and short irons are very accurate. No problems in any conditions. Even got my second hole in one with the 5 iron from 197 (brag post).

I am wondering the same thing… Although considering i230 and I 525. How much does turf interaction matter for us sweepers? If we are making minimal contact with the ground, how much will additional bounce really matter? Especially on irons with relatively narrow soles. Some will say the i series have wide soles, but not really compared to GI and SGI irons.
