What's the difference between releasing early vs bunker play

I know Monte ... Mike Austin .. Jack Nicklaus and David Duvall advocate releasing early but the first point of contact isn't the bounce.  

 

I also know that to be a good bunker player you have to release early and scoop the ball.

 

What is the difference?  Is it that for the full swing ... the transfer of energy is going left forcefully which provides a low point after the ball .... and for the bunker shot .. the body stalls a bit creating a scoop?

On a standard bunker shot I don’t see it that way.  Ball is a bit forward and you produce the same low point as a regular swing.

Thanks for responding Monte.  I didn't quite understand.  If you had to use a square clubface in the sand .... it would be the same motion as your full swing except the ball position would be forward so you'd smack the bounce first?

Not a scoop and not an early release.

You don’t use a square club face in the sand unless the sand is Uber firm
