Wow! I had a set of the raw Nike Tour Blades, from before these came out. 
 

They were awesome and back when I played couple times a week. 
 

So soft and easy to elevate. Amazing.

In general, does the lack of any metal plating help or hinder the feel?

They might be.  I know Tiger demanded Miura for his irons after Nike's crap didn't work.

Don't forget Nike was basically Hogan and used most of their blanks especially in the early days. I don't like it when people discredit Nike golf and the highly skilled staff they had working there.

Geeze I wasn’t trying to discredit. Just tell the story. Materials and build decisions have nothing to do with the extremely hard workers around those bad decisions.

it’s well know Tiger demanded Nike to have his irons forged by Miura.

Many OEM’s outsourced their manufacturing to Endo and yes from even the top 3.

Have owned many Nike irons and still own their wedges. 
I was simply stating the Nike Tour raw heads were something I played for a full summer and were awesome!

Very much like how these are above. Regardless of who forged them.
