I didnt realize that I took the club so far back behind me. Also, I have trouble reaching that finishing position that good golfers get to (among other things.)

Let me preface this by saying I'm not a professional, but I have had a lot of instruction. Your tempo and rhythm look good. On the grip, the left hand looks weaker than the right hand. The V's don't match up as well as they could. The only other thing I could see was it looks as if you roll the face open immediately on the backswing, and this could be the reason it seems to be getting so far inside. Swing speed looks good, I'd bet you take a few bucks off of your buddies on the weekend.

Yes, I have video of one popping me right in the face. Draw I guess. If I get too far from the fence, It goes over and into the neighbor's yards.

Holy S***. I've never seen someone practice against a fence. BRILLIANT!!! Never mind the swing... I say save up for a net or an athletic cup... absolutely amazing.

you do have a somewhat neutral or weak grip for an amatuer...

You take the club inside and then go over the top.

Yeh I have to agree that you yank it back on the inside, don't really make any kind of turn, and then come over the top. Lots to work on buddy, but we are all in the same boat!

Thanks. I am aware of the taking it to far inside on the way back, and the over the top (although I thought I was improving,) but what kind of turn is missing? Is there video of the proper turn? This is what I am trying to emulate. I didnt look at it on video until this and my attempt to do a proper turn has resulted in taking the club back there,,,just not the body apparently.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

I think there are about as many theories for stopping the OTT move as there are flavors of Doritos. There was a thread in here a few weeks ago from a guy (medici999 or something similar) who "thought" he came over the top (but didn't ironically, he just had an exaggerated planar transition) and there were probably 30 replies telling him how to stop hitting from OTT. I suggest you peak in that thread for some info. This is not my cuppa, as I'm only good at conveying how I've dealt with an issue and this is not one with which I'm familiar. Good luck.

Your backswing is coming too far inside by rolloing the foreams in the takeaway this is due to the slightly weak grip which causes you to fan the clubface open...to solve this i would strengthen the grip a touch and then work at everything moving away together for the 1st few feet then get the wrist set right by feeling as though you **** the club up the toe of the club is going up in the air.......2 great drills you could use are the tummy button dril where the butt goes into your tummy button and you turn everything together then as the club passes 8 o'clock you set the club up and then rotate the left arm to take you to the top of the swing this deeper top of the backswing will help eliminate the steeper downswing as this is caused by the classic in and up backswing where you are then looking to try and create some space......the second drill would be set up to a ball and have your rear just against a fence and take the club back to waist high everything moves away as a unit and the you set the club properly and you wont hit the fence take it back too rolled and you'll hit the fence..... ;)

one thing i do notice from the still is that you seem to have zero flex in your right knee...

 

i believe most schools of thought are to keep a felx in the right knee on the backswing... except for S&T, i think...?
