Golf Pad Tags

Anyone use those? As opposed to Shot Scope or Arccos? Thoughts? How well does it work scanning thru front pant pocket?

I just bought some, haven't used, but I did get the trial premium and went out with my apple watch the other day. After trying that, I don't think you need the tags if you have a watch. It does the same thing except you select the club on your watch instead of tapping the phone. I am going to return the tags because of this.

Oh wow. But you still have to program the club each shot? How hard or intrusive to the round is that? It still maps out the round following show where all the shots were? And stats?

Used the tags for years with phone in a front pocket. Once you figure out the best place to tap in the phone it worked good. What was mentioned about using your watch is good too. I wanted something I didn’t need to remember to tag or the distraction on tapping my watch. I still have my tags. If you want to try’em let me know where to mail’em. Updates can sometimes disturb the tagging but Golf Pad support was quick to resolve. Golf Pad will give you a free full featured trial if you email them.

@Minarets you just replied while I was typing…yes you tap and select your club, hit your shot and repeat. Yes it still maps the shots. However, I used the phone GPS so I had the phone in my back pocket. My older Apple Watch did last 18, but eventually it wouldn’t when using the watch GPS. A plus for tapping the watch is you know a shot wasn’t missed.

If you have the tags you still have to select your club? Aren’t the tags programmed to the club you’re using? If you’re not using them anymore, I would love to try them out and then I can send it back to you. I will pay for everything.

For Golf Pad the tags can be put on any club and you program the app for tag and club. You’ll add your clubs to your app’s bag, attach a tag to a club, and then tap the tag to your phone. When playing just tap your phone so it knows what club you’re swinging. For Shotscope the tags are specific so if it says 5I on the tag you place it on the 5 iron.

Send me your address and I’ll get them in the mail to you. I don’t plan on using them any longer. If you decide they’re not for you, maybe a buddy would like to try them out. Golf Pad support is great and I thought their app was great. One thing I miss is their plays like distance as it factored in weather conditions and wind. Wind is tough as it changes so I ignored that but I thought the other factors were great. I just didn’t like having to tap and went V3.

I use my WearOS watch with GolfPad and the manual shot tracking is pretty good. I use the watch GPS, and it works fine for me. I normally look at the watch to get distances, so tapping "Track" and selecting my club isn't too big of a deal
