Counterbalanced Shaft

Is there a way to tell from shaft specs whether a shaft is counterbalanced or not?

Technically the balance point of the shaft.

But I have not seen any standard of at what point a shaft is considered counterbalanced.

Like for example if it were based on just the balance point then all lines of Ventus shafts are counterbalanced but they are not categorized like it.

Take a raw shaft and balance it. If the balance point is more towards the butt end than the dead center of the shaft then it plays more counterbalanced. The more the balance point is toward the butt end, the more counterbalanced it is.

No. Even the marketing info isn't really all that helpful. You really have to measure it yourself. Although even doing that you can only get a relative difference between two shafts. There is no real standard to use to compare with a single measurement.

Or find someone else who's done it for you (like getting a subscription at https://www.golfshaftreviews.info/). There may be other independent data bases with the info around.
