Modus 105X and 115S

This is a great price at $150 4-w in x for the 105. Haven't seen them this cheap but haven't looked in a while. Might have to pick up a set to try out.

Sweet, I picked up a 5-PW set of the x-stiff for $116 shipped.  Don't have heads for them and no specific plan, but a great deal...Not sure why the 5-PW is so much cheaper.  If I really want to go up to 4i, I will buy a separate shaft or maybe hardstep these 1x and go with a heavier shaft in the PW, maybe Modus 115x or 125x.  My wedges are mainly the DG spinners or S400.

 

I actually have a ZX5 3i with the 105x and like it.  I guess I am not 100% sure if it will like the lighter shaft in the short irons.  Recently have played Modus 120x and currently have KBS $-taper 130x in my gamers.  But thinking of building up a second set with these.

It's is odd but that's super cheap for these. I play px 6.5 right now but have the 105x in my gap mainly because it was no upcharge at the time from Ping. I really like it in the wedge but I'm curious about the other end of the bag 😂. I haven't pulled the trigger yet but I probably will soon and will do the same you did with the thought I can hard step and just buy an extra wedge as I know I like it on that end of the bag.

I just switched to these shafts in my T150s and love them. I came from X100s and I feel like I can put a smoother swing on these with the same control and distance. I'm tempted to buy another set, but don't have a plan for them.

I have a set of Srixon Z-forged with X100s that are kind of a backup set.  I am tempted to swap these in there.  But if I can find a fun set of heads to try without the work of pulling the Z-forged shafts I may just do that.

 

Good to know that the X100 to 105x was a positive one given the big weight difference.  

 

Did you find that that the swingweight was pretty similar, or did you have to do anything special to make that work?

Both shafts came with irons in stock swingweight (D2) and I don't feel the need to modify the new set with 105Xs. The main adjustment I've had to make is to not swing overly aggressive with the new set. It's only taken a couple months to adapt to that and my contact has gotten much better.

I got in on this deal about a month or two ago for the 115S. Screaming deal on Nippon shafts as people usually sell pulls from like $140+
