Irons Similar to Bridgestone J36 CB

Been gaming these for some time. They check every single box for me. Beautiful sharp profile at addrees with a more square toe, short blade length, low offset; and in addition have a nice slightly wide sole with proper relief. Also are super soft Endo forged 1020 carbon steel.

My concern is, even though I certainly am not an elite amateur or playing tournaments, it bothers me that the grooves are currently non-conforming. It shouldnt, but it does. They do spin a touch more than other current offerings, but I think it is because IVe weakened them 1-2 degres.

I have hunted high and low, in and out and cannot find anything to compare. I have a feeling Miura 502 MC may get close-ish, but probably not due to headweights and build considerations (see later). Have not tried j33 (but would also be non-conforming). From what I can tell J38 will have a longer blade length (although pictures do look somewhat similar). All the later bridgestone cbs are too chunky for me (J40, J15, tour B). I just got a set of X-blade 709 mc, and they are also a bit too chunky (wider sole, rounder toe, slightly higher apparent offset), although are fairly close. Own a set of Miura MB 5005 which are awesome, but they heads are 6 grams heavier which makes building them into x100s (and keeping SW and overall weight low), tough.

Anyone have any ideas that I have yet to explore? I really like the Ping Blueprint S, but currently they are really expensive.

That's a tough one being so specific, but I think that you are on to something with the J38 CB. That and the Mizuno MP-18 SC's are very similar to each other. At first, I would have said the J15 CB, but you said they are a bit too chunky. They just don't make irons like they used to, at least here for the NA market. Miura has to have something in their stable. The new Callaway Apex CB's? Taylormade P7mc's. Probably going to have to go with something at least a few years old, but the MP-18 SC's would probably be easier to find than the BS J38's.

Thanks for your thoughts. I suppose I havent seen the J15 cb in person, but its lofts are strong, has more offset, and a wider sole and from pics I am 95% sure it will be too large. New Callaway CBs look great but dont love the feel of the tech. Taylormade P7MC is definitly high on the list, a little chunk trying to do better lol, but have been very close to buying these fora quite some time. The MP 18 SC is quite a large head, even larger than J15s I would imagine.

Maybe just reshaft my Miura MB 5005 and call it a day.
