I've heard good things about the Cobra LTDX 3 wood. Anyone have experience with that versus the SIM Ti?

The ltdx replaced my sim ti. Sim ti is without a doubt one of the longest fairways ever. Ltdx is a fairway finder. Its “well balanced”. Maybe a tad draw biased, which would be my only knock in it. Still in the bag.

How much distance did you lose with the LTDX from the tee...from the fairway? In what ways is it superior to the OG SIM Ti?

Umm, tee on average maybe 5-10 yards. Not as much from fairway. But the control tradeoff I got with the Ltdx was worth it to me. Just doesnt have that wild one in it like the sim seems to have every now and then. And it fits better in my gaps.

Ok, that's good to hear. I've got a new LTDX head I'm going to put into play.

I know I might sound a little crazy, but I have tried MANY 3 woods in the last few years to beat out my M6 with a GD XC 7x in it.

I shafted up an old Exotics XCG4  13 degree head with a GD HD 6x (I am now over 50 years old) and this thing beat it.  Titanium faces on the old XCG series are just so good.

Slightly longer than the M6 with perfect launch and spin for me.  It's like a mini driver off the tee, I only lose about 20 from my driver.  I bought my son the new TM mini driver for his birthday, and I like the old Tour Edge better.  I've got about 25 rounds with it and its not going anywhere!

Driver LTDX-LS - UST VTS Red 5s

Three Wood - TEE XCG4 - GD HD 6x

Seven Wood - TEE XCG6 - UST VTS Red 7sx

4-G - Honma TR20P - Nippon NEO 950s

52,56 - Cleveland 588 Forged - Modus 125 Wedge

Putter - 2ball 10 Tour Lined Stroke Lab

Grips - GP MCC Midsize, SS Tour 2.0

Ball - Vice Pro Neon Green

I added an LTDxLS 5 wood in the bag this year hoping to have 4w distance and couldn't get it to work. It could have just been the shaft that I was using, but I don't think I got along as well with the T rails either, I was quite bummed. Picked up a sim ti 5w and its been the best. The deeper face off the tee launches it almost as far as a mini driver. Not as good as my 430 max off the turf, but manageable. In a bit of a pickle between those two at the moment.

Tried out the sim TI 3w hoping for even better results and couldn't get along with it for some reason. If anyone needs one, I just have it sitting on my desk.

I am still hitting an XCG3 16.5* 4-wood, and I can't find anything to knock it out of the bag. I have demoed what feels like every 3-wood under the sun recently, and I get ball speeds in the 130mph zone, pretty much across the board. Some I hit a little straighter, some not so much. But none are noticeably hotter than others.

The other day at the range I was getting 139 average ball speed with my XCG3. If it works, it works!

It’s the Sim 2 Ti for me.  Had an OG Sim and couldn’t stay off the left side of the course.  Still have the random big left miss but much better for me with Sim 2.

The only thing that I have tested that can keep up ball speed wise is Qi10 Tour, and the extra weight to make it more fade bias is intriguing.

I hit some amazing shots with sim ti. Almost got my first ace with it on a 280 par 4 at my home club…one roll away.

That being said s2+ 16.5 has proven to be a lot more forgiving and nearly as long. Still have my sim ti though if I decide I need the knuckleball back in the bag. I found sim 3 wood to be very fadey

I had both the 3w & 5w OG SIM Ti for quite a few years.  Sold them on when I was consistently preferring to bag my tour issue Mavrik SZ 3w on the course.  The TM was somewhat unstable due to the ultra low spin hooks on toe strikes and it never sounded as good as my Tour Edge CB1.

Recently added the Mizuno ST-G Titanium as it ticks all the boxes from both camps.  I get that crazy tee distance, plenty of spin, deep face, feels great and I trust it off the deck.
