Agreed.  And some of the players are already glacial enough, without throwing coaches into the mix as well.

 

I continue to believe that tournament golf should have some version of a pitch clock that starts when it’s your turn to putt and gives you 15-20 seconds to strike the ball. The amount of time some players take on the greens is nuts.

Personally, I’m not feeling LaCosta as an upgrade from Grayhawk in any way.  It’s just such a mediocre property in a mediocre location, and, honestly, for a course that was just redone by Gil Hanse, conditions don’t appear to be spectacular.  Grayhawk was a much more interesting layout to watch on TV, particularly the closing holes.

 

And I’m not sure about the transitional grass thing.  I played Grayhawk two years ago the week before the NCAA’s started and it was in perfect condition.

I'm not sure that falls if the pin is in but that's a hell of a what if to have to wonder about.

Ohio State beats Auburn if the TV tower didn't save the flyer in the playoff yesterday.  That being said golf is a game of bounces.  Congrats to Auburn on the title.

I promise I'm not saying this to contradict you on every thread LOL.  La Costa was much more interesting visually and strategically.  Plus the weather was much more comfortable.  Firm golf is always more interesting than soft golf IMO.  La Costa will soften when more organic matter builds up.  It was very good for college players.  Desert golf is just not good.

Thoroughly enjoyed today's NCAA action from Carlsbad, CA.  Solid and clutch play displayed by both Florida State and Auburn was seen throughout matches.  Glad Golf Channel provides so much NCAA coverage.
