Swing weight scale

HI all

Turning to the best here which is everyone to ask for help or for your opinion.

I currently own a Maltby Design Digital Swing weight Scale-MA0222 , i wanted to look into a another swing weight scale. I don't have any issues, make a long story short i had the load sensor replaced by Golf Mechanix. I had to ship it out to them plus returning back to me. for some reason i just don't have faith in the unit.

Love to hear your feedback and recommendations and opinions.

Buy a calibration club. If your scale is off, either use a mental correction factory, or get another scale. I can't imagine Golf Mechanix not checking the unit after repair, though.

Get an old style swingweight scale with the movable weight on a bar and a fulcrum. You'll never send it anywhere for repair unless you back the car over it.

Swingweight is really only a useful measurement in reference to a working club. If you are doing your own club work and dont have to worry about customers the exact number the scale reports doesnt really matter. At the end of the day its generally best to tune your clubs before measuring and then use the scale to reproduce that feel across the set.

@eddieblade I’ve got the scale from golfworks that you posted in your original post. I moved to this from my manual Mitchell SW scale and love it. Easy to use and very accurate.

Don't really indicate what the problem with the scale is. Just a gut feeling or a known issue? Contact Mondher from Golf Mechanix directly, he's very knowledgeable and helpful, contact info available on their web site. I wouldn't waste money on a new scale until I was absolutely sure it was useless, just follow some of the suggestions above.

HI All i don't have any issues currently i actually like the scale was just curious if i should upgrade or stick with what I have. Mondher from golf mechanix is the best, I do purchase a lot of equipment from them and he has always guided me on what to purchase never has tried to upsell anything i didn't need. I am 100% they checked everything before it was sent back to me.

I just did order a calibration stick, I do build alot of clubs for friends and just wanted to make sure when they are asking for the correct swing weight i am precise. i have yet had a complaint or anything, they have loved anything i built.

As long as you use the instrument correct, it does NOT matter what values it deliver
If you build clubs based on a SW target, without a tuned up club as the model, NO SW scale in this world will make it right, not even Mitchell Tour Gauge (Non digital)
