Hybrid choice

My 4 iron loft at 24. What loft hybrid would most likely be a good option to fit between 3 wood and 4 iron?

20 - 22 vote for me..... as it will probably fly 2 degree futher than the stated loft

Probably 20… I’m sure it’s a decent gap between the two clubs and it should fit in the middle and not too near either the 4 iron or 3 wood

My 20° hybrid flies about 15-20 yards further than my (21.5°) 4 iron.

I’d keep an eye on shaft length as well. Generally distance is a combination between loft and length. Example: Apex UW 21* tends to go a similar distance to a 19* hybrid due to the shaft length differences and how hot the head is. 5W tends to go further than 3H loft for loft due to the shaft length too.

My 4H and 4 U both are lofted at 22*. The hybrid is longer by 10/15 yards so the gapping works well.

Would recommend taking static lofts as a very rough guide to inform testing.

 

I just upgraded an Titleist 818 23* to a G430 22* - there's only one degree of difference in loft, but 15 metres in total distance.
