Gapping with hybrids

I have never had more than one hybrid in the bag. Right now using a TM Sim max 22 degree. Love the club. Im considering buying a higher lofted hybrid. But for those of you who do. Is 3 degrees enough to create a 10-15 yard gap (25 degree) or is 26 a better option?

3* works.  I go 22* to 25* into a 26* iron. They go something like 195-200, 180-185, and 170-175. I think you’d be fine if you got a matching 25* or if it’s not going to match get something adjustable so you can tweak it some.

Thats 4 degrees, yes, makes more sense in my head

I did 3deg gaps with PXG gen4s before moving to the Pings, and I’m happier with the Ping gapping. Just a tad wider and weaker for me.

Ping is also supposed to be harder to hook?

That I could not speak to very will. I’ve played a lot of hybrid’s and find the Pings the easiest for me, but I hook the 6 hybrid off the tee from time to time.

I think it supposed to have a flat setting, but not sure. That fights the hook.

Yes, with Ping you can go flat standard loft, flat minus one degree or flat plus one degree. All considerably flatter lie angles than most hybrids on the market -- and the flat standard option is the absolute flattest on the market. 

 

I have four Ping G430 hybrids, though I don't play all of them at the same time: 3H, 4H, 5H and 6H, all with Tour 2.0 Chrome 85S shafts and set to -1 loft. I actually just hit them on Trackman earlier today. Here are my carry distances on good strikes: 

 

3H at 18 -- 218

4H at 21 -- 208

5H at 25 -- 195

6H at 29 -- 183

Similar numbers as me. I really think Ping has nailed it there, about the 4 degree gap. And adjustable as well!

I’m pretty happy with how the club performs. Not often enough to change anything other than practice. I was 1/2 GIR with it on par 3s today, with the second ball A LITTLE long, but straight. 
 

I do have the G430 3 hybrid, but I don’t usually play it. The courses I play can survive without it (I go driver 5w 4hy). I grabbed it bc it was a steal on 2ndswing and wanted the matching club for when I am comfortable and confident enough to move back tees. I’ve got the 425 7h in my storage, too - haven’t quite abandoned the 7i just yet, but maybe one day. 

My shot of the day today was a 211yd approach w 4h to recover from a 133 yd drive I yanked into the trees. I got a lucky bounce back to the fairway, but I was out of position and blind, having failed to clear an upslope. Smooth swing with the 4H and I was very pleased to find my ball on the green in regulation after butchering the tee shot. More luck than skill, but I suppose you need the skill to get lucky.
