Pinehurst area food?

Playing to Tobacco Road Tuesday and overnighting to play mid pines early Wednesday AM. 
 

Any tips on some good food places? Doesn’t have to be fancy at all.

I haven’t eaten there, but I have heard the food at Mid Pines and Pine Needles is supposed to be good. I have eaten at The Deuce, and the food was good, and being right behind the 18th on #2, the atmosphere was even better.

If you're looking for convenience - there are some good restaurants within Southern Pines itself that will be much closer to your hotel. 

 

Chapman's, Ashten's are both good. There is also an outpost of the Southern Pines brewery near by, nice place to sit outside and have a couple beers. There used to be a really fun korean fusion restaurant with good drinks, but sadly it went out of business a year or two ago. 

 

If you really want to go to "Pinehurst" - the resort/hotel options are fine but more fancy than it sounds like you want. The food at the Deuce (bar by #2 and the clubhouse) is fine, but you obviously get the history of seeing the facility and the course. 

 

Pinehurst Brewing company a popular casual spot, barbecue is decent, usually crowded. 

 

In the village of Pinehurst you've got Drum & Quill or Dugan's pub - both casual bar type spots.

Chapman's and Ashten's in SP and Maxie's in PH are all good suggestions as is the Mid Pines clubhouse restaurant (I never ate at PN).

Ember's BBQ in SP is good, as is SoPi's pizza but they're both basically take out and IMHO don't have much atmosphere to eat inside.

Vito's, a casual sit down Italian restaurant in SP is pretty good too.

Maybe take a look at Red's Corner in SP which is close to where you're staying. Outdoor beer garden that has different food trucks rotating through, it's a nice set up.
