SkyGolf Customer service was great !

Since there has been some comments posted here in the past about poor customer service from SkyGolf I thought I should post my recent experience as an FYI to anyone interested.

Here is the text from my online chat with customer service :

Jason: Hello. How may I assist you?
you: Hello. I'm having a problem with my SG5 battery life I'm hoping you can help me with. When I first got the unit approx 2 months ago I routinely got through 2 rounds of golf without recharging - ie. about 9-10 hours of play (That's lower than the advertised 14hours but I use the backlight so I expected a lower battery life). Now however I barely get through one round before I need to recharge. Most recently I got 5.5 hours of play before it shut down. Can you help me with this ? Seems like a faulty battery to me ....
Jason: May I have your name and the city and state you registered your device?

Jason: I have requested that a new battery be sent out to you as a replacement since you are still under your 90 day warranty.

It just means the battery compartment is user-accessible so you can replace the battery if necessary. I believe some previous models had built-in rechargeables which could only be replaced by shipping them back to SkyGolf. Not 100% certain which models were like that though .....

Brendan, after replacing the battery, what battery life are you experiencing. I have a one month old SG2.5 and get only about 6 hours before receiving a message to recharge.

I agree with you Brendan, that seemed easy. But what he didnt tell you was that in another few months when you start to have the same problem again you will be outside the 90 day warranty period and the replacement battery will not be free. They will try to charge you $40 for the replacement, BTW you can get one on the Bay for $10.

WOW! Just couldn't help yourself could you? Had to have a negative comment here so...................... I have had two SG5's and NEVER a battery problem, had the first one over a year and the second one is over a year old (gave the first one to my son FYI)
Also as a side note, played in the Kentucky Senior AM this week and a guy using a laser ask "oh, how far are we? I can't see the flag" (my little dig at the laser boys!

My question is why is someone responding to a thread that had a last post of two years ago. Since over two years have gone by since the original post, the response is a negative post that is no use to the op at this point.
