Grums bag of bling

Scratch, more scratch, some TM and Titleist.

My bags seen a fair bit of change coming up to the start of the season, so i figured i'd post a new WITB. Don't have many pics for now, so I apoligise for that.

Off the tee;
I'm swaying between a 905R/Rombax 7W06 combo, and a 907D2/NVS85(PINK!) combo. At the moment, the D2 is launching high, low spin LONG drives, that I can work left or right. Its also pink, so it gets the nod from me :russian_roulette:

Backup rocket launcher(aka, my 3 wood :clapping:) Is a burner tp 14.5* also with a pink NVS 85. Left, right, high, low, you name it, it'll do it. Long balling fairway finder. Pretty nifty off the deck too.

From the fairway, I've got a set of bling bling Scratch irons. The set is 3-PW, split 3 and 4 as EZ1(big chopper cavity's! easy as pie), 5-7 are AR1's which are pretty solid players cavity's, and 8-PW are SB1's which are pin seeking bladed spin machines, awesome! Custom ground with a slightly squared toe, d/s grind and a polished chrome finish. Shafted with FST KB tour 5.5's - great shafts(and white paintfills and ferrules!)




Wedges, more scratch again.
my 51* is a JLM(retail) SND grind pimped by Jon at scratch, shafted with a KB tour 5.5(white paintfill and ferrules again)
my 55* is a Tour Dept KLD grind with a nicely worn in copper plated finish, shafted with an S300(I have spare white ferrules to put on it :()
my 60* is a JLM(retail) EGG grind, again pimped by Jon to match my set with white paintfill and ferrule.

My putter(s) are a pair of Scotty Circa 62' #2's, one in oil can with white snow on the bumpers, the other a charcoal mist finish. Both with custom paintfills.

Its a mirror polished chrome, although its slowly getting dinged and covered in sand marks(sandy course). Can't keep them pretty forever, and they are awesome sticks, so I'm not babying them quite so much now, I just get stuck in and enjoy!

I don't even notice the white ferrules now. I just like my clubs to be different and to stand out I guess, also why I like the pink shafts :P

I'm also to be found with one of several brightly-hued Ping headcovers on my 3 wood too...

 

Jjust joking. Very nice clubs indeed, albeit I bet the Visa card is still glowing red hot after paying for those!

 

Speaking of checked trousers, I've got some 'Inspired by Sandy Lyle' Adidas ones from the late '80s that you'd probably like... And (sounding a bit like Gary Player) they still fit me now... :( Some of my old Adidas jumpers are a bit lairy too. Mustard, anyone? Or tangerine?

Yeah, still paying off the mortgage on them :P

I don't spend my cash on much else, so its not too bad. My friends spend alot on booze, a select few on drugs, gambling, their cars, etc

I don't drink excessively(although I have a nice collection of single malts at cost price :russian_roulette:), dont do drugs, gamble sparingly(damned puggy!) and the only things I spend money on the car is petrol, tyres(new falken 452's, nice and cheap :() and brake discs and pads and insurance.

They came direct from Scratch in the US. By some miracle....they snuck through customs with no tax!

absolutely loving them. Just had a very long and hard, but rewarding practice session after work. Very happy with how I'm striking the ball, and feel like I could go out tomorow and shoot a 70 :shok:

The ferrules are certainly head turners. Played a few holes with one of the assistants at Turnberry(he holds our course record and originally lived and played here), first thing he said on seeing my bag was 'love the ferrules!'

Maybe didn't word that well. I played with one of the assitants from turnberry, here. He grew up as a hunior here and is still a member. Holds our course record. Someone beat it once, so he came back and beat it :wacko:

 

Hopefully in coming years ill get a round or two out there, as one of my friends(possibly two!) is starting is training out there next season!

Cracking course. I've been lucky enough to have a crack on the Ailsa in my time, thankfully not at the price that was the going rate at the time and roughly equivalent to my monthly mortgage payment at the time. Not the best course on the Open rota from a critical point of view, but my favorite venue by far.

 

Hopefully those irons are treating you well and you're enjoying them mate. I'm getting a couple of my old sets spruced up a bit - but I doubt they'll rival the shine from those beauties when they've been fettled. :wacko:

the nickel is starting come through nicely on the 51 and PW on the sweetspot(i play and practice alot)
