Your Favorite Tourstage Iron

Z101 followed by the 2005 X blades. I own both. I have sung the Z101's praises for years. One of THE modern classics!!

Well, i have a set of the Z101 irons, their in great shape, hardly used, going to reshaft them with the NS Pro 1150 GH tour stiff shafts. Has anyone tried this? well, being a senior, i figure the extra launch height will be a plus. the look and design of the heads look to be right up my ally, what was your flight characteristics with the Z101's thanks.what do you think is the strangths and weakness of these irons?

It took me several weeks to sell an excellent set of 101s with PX 5.5. Net proceeds after shipping were $325.

Flight characteristics depend somewhat on shaft choice. The 2-5 iron do launch a little higher than some. This is to do with the tungston insert on the sole. This is intentionally done to make the long irons launch better. This is a good thing for moderate swing speed players. 6-pw are pretty conventional luanch wise. Similar to most blade like players cb's. They certainly don't balloon. The weight in the sole has a progressive higher cog as you move towrds the pw.

i had my 101s reshafted with nspro 850 R shafts and it's just right for me...

i am 65 with a driver ss of 95 and have been playing golf for 53 years now....got as low as a 3 but am now hovering around a 10 hdcp at my 6400+ yard home course..

i have a preference for lighter shafts and my other 2 gamers both have graphite shafts in the 65-75 gm weight range but i hit the 101s similar distances as my graphites..

i have a medium ball flght with no ballooning with them and when hit on the sweet spot the feeling is pure and hard to describe---as if no ball is in the way..

my other gamers have GI features such as vibration dampeners and pocket cavities (adams CB2, V3 and TS v7000) and the 101s feel just as good..

i use them mostly on the range but the transition to my graphite gamers is almost seamless...

Matt Kuchar's Bridgestone sticks from last year with the dark/rustic finish were timeless...Not sure if this would relate to Tourstage or not, but I thought I would add my $.02

I love my x-blade 901's - Probably the most purest irons I have ever hit...Most of the time it feels like the ball melts into the face when I hit the ball. The only problem is the shafts that came with them. They are the ns-pro 950's like the s-300's and are a little too weak for my swing speed. I am probably going to sell them but I am really on the fence. I was going to re-shaft them but I think I found a different tourstage iron I might go after. I just not sure if I can let this set go since their only 1200 made>> What do you think?

Z101's...loved them, just sold them today to fund some other toys.

Can the experts list the CB Tourstage irons from most forgiving to least forgiving?
Also which ones would compare to say my Mizuno Mx-300 or Srixon i-700 irons? thanks

Z101's. Miss mine, had 2 sets and sold both a year ago. So wish I hadn't!

when i hit my Z101s well on the the range it gives me more confidence that i will hit my main gamers just as well if not better....it also minimizes the wear and tear on my gamers..

the Z101s have a smaller head vs my main gamers-- V7000s and my combo of Adams CB2 and V3 forged irons...they are also the only steel shafted irons i have and i feel they will withstand better the sometimes hard surfaces of the ranges i sometimes have to use..

my 3 iron sets all have a similar feel at impact inspite of the fact that the V7000s have pocket cavities and the adams have vibration dampeners and have graphite shafts..

CB 2008 is what I have and they are the most solid irons I have ever hit, the x 100's in mine are a little on the stiff side but I am afraid to mess with them at all, they are forgiving but not easy to hit by any means.

2008 cb are best like 701 as well

I love anything and everything Titleist, but will never get rid of my 2004 Tourstage X-Blade CB's.
