Question about 52* wedge

Get a 52 or bend my 54?

I need a 52* to fill in my gap so I can have PW, 52 and 56. Would it be better to bend a current 54 or just buy a 52? The 52's have a bounce of 8 and the 54 has 10, but the 54 is a spin milled which would be nice to keep. But I thought it wouldn't be good to have too much bounce for full swings?

54's are usually when you begin to enter "Sand wedge" territory, so that's the reasoning on the higher bounce.. its just being that the 54 is a "stronger" sand wedge, over a 56

Hi Lance,

I would not recommend to bent SM 54 to 52 only due to the fact that the SM version spins too much for a gap wedge in my opinion if your aim is to close yaedage gaps

As I posted in other threads i had 48 bent to 47 56 SM and 60 SM and changed (due to large yardage gap between normal Vokey 47 and Vokey SM 56) to 48 bent to 47 52 bent to 53 and SM 58

As you bend a club strong you decrease its bounce. If you bend a 54 wedge with 10 degrees of bounce to 52, you will only have 8 degrees of bounce in the finished product. So don't let the bounce be an issue. But you probably don't want spin milling on that strong a loft so I would go with the 252.08.

Sweet, I guess the other thing I was wondering is would a 52 have a thinner sole than the 54. Even still I'll probably end up just grabbing a 52

any ideas? I was planning on heading over tonight to go pick up a 52 or have mine bent

bend it. i had mine bent before they shipped it. couldn't be happier. the only times i see it spin too much is on full swings. but if your like me, i never swing my 53 full so it isn't an issue. i would get it bent and see how it plays, if you like it you save yourself some money. if you don't, go get a new one :D
