i have a couple of questions about dynamic gold shafts with sensicore technology.

 

1)True temper claims that sensicore abosorbs more unwanted shock than graphite.

2) Also sensicore has been taken into pgatour winner circle over 130 times.

3)How come we dont hear so much about sensicore?

4)Who are the top tour players using these shafts?

5) What is the major difference for those who have tried both dynamic gold and dynamic golf with sensicore?

 

ve been playing graphite for sometime now due to a wrist injury but they are getting too weak i was looking at getting dynamic gold SL with sensicore?

I had the DG S300 Sensicore shafts in my old Titleist DCI 962 irons. I really liked them at the time. They definitely muted the feel on poor contact hits but didn't seem to deaden the feel on pure strikes. All of my irons since then have come with the regular S300 shafts and I haven't noticed a huge difference to be honest. My most recent sets have been forged while the DCI's were cast so maybe that has a tiny bit to do with it (probably just in my mind). Right before the DCI's I had a set of King Cobra Oversized with graphite shafts. Definitely a different feel than the Sensicores. If you have a wrist problem then graphite is probably the way to go. The Sensicores may be a bit more vibration-damping than the regular DG shafts, but not compared to graphite the way I remember it.

I had Sensicors S300's in my DCI's I like them fine and had no problems with them until they started snapping on me.

 

I had three of them snap on me right at the place where the sensicore is. The suckers rusted away. The last one the jagged shaft almost got me.

 

I reshafted them with a variation on the s300 I forget what they call them but they were supposed to be firmer in the short irons and weaker in the long irons I liked them .

 

All I am saying is if you get sensicore dont do like I do and keep them in your trunk. I am sure that was part of the problem throwing my wet clubs in the trunk and forgetting about them the sensicore held moisture and rusted the inside of the shaft.

Go with Prosoft inserts at myostrichgolf.com instead. They don't absorb moisture like sensicore (legendary for rusting) and work even better, IMO. Can't compare to graphite, though, as I've never hit graphite. But the prosofts are awesome.

Prosoft inserts do absorb more than regular sensicore and are quite cheaper. You can do everything to steel add inserts, add shock absorbing grips and they still won't come close to graphite.

It depends on your condition as to what you can tolerate, there are graphite iron shafts that perform just as well as steel at any stiffness. And there is a lot of light weight steel out there now that performs well and vibrates less.

As to success on the pga tour, that relates very little to me, I've seen em play and there is very little else that compares, except maybe with both play with little white balls and 14 clubs.

As far as shock absorbing, graphite does a much better job than any steel shaft. Nippon is probably the closest to graphite, then maybe Rifle, then True Temper.

No steel product will provide the shock absorbing benefits of graphite. I moved to graphite last year and will never go back. I assure you products are available which will fit you well and offer no performance loss over steel.

The Sensicore insert is an open celled foam - like a sponge.

 

The ProSoft insert is a close celled foam.

 

Try soaking a ProSoft insert in water. Though it will hold moisture in the air passage holes down the middle of the insert, the actual foam itself does not absorb moisture.

 

The air vents will eventually dry out. The Sensicore foam will not.
