Long Drive Shafts

whats the best?
Hey I have not done much fitting for long drives. I am trying to help a local guy get the best set up for him so he can crush it.

He hits a stock Nike SQ2 5900 further than a Cleveland Hibore XLS with a 50" inch shaft.

Mainly he got too low launch angle and way to little spin (10.5* and 1950 RPM average)

But the Nike he got a little to much spin. 12.5* LA and 3034 Back spin.

What is a good 50 inch shaft to help increase launch angle and spin rates?
Or just a good shaft all around, heard the V2 Long Drive is a nice.

Its difficult to choose with so many shafts available. But, if you want to go with what is used by 90%+ of the long drive community, then go with House of forged (www.whiteshaft.com) or the UST V2 LD shafts. There will be a new brand coming out soon from www.alloutgolf.com that I've heard will have similar characteristics to the Accuflex Pro LD (which is a very successful LD shaft, but Accuflex looks to be phasing out the LD portion of their business).

If you want the most bang for the buck in a LD shaft you have to look at the Lite Rev by SK Fiber. I think it runs somewhere around $40 new. I would have to agree with the HOF being the most popular this year. Last year was it was the UST V2 and next year who knows. I would get away from OEM products ASAP because they don't hold up well in LD and they won't warrenty their product. 12.5* LA is good(genearlly 12-14 is ideal depending on conditions), just have to get the ball speed and spin correct now to take advantage of it.

Josh,

I forgot to mention, that is his clothing changing interval, his equiptment is more like 2-3 weeks.
