two days to play 3 or 4 courses, help me out!

Hey guys. I grew up in South Jersey but have not been back to play all the great public courses near AC in years. Let me know which you think I should definitely play if I'm trying to do 3 or 4 in two days with a few friends who've never been.

Twisted Dune is a given. As is Shore Gate. I'm debating between what remains of Blue Heron (is the West course worth it still?), ACCC (worth the money?), Seaview Bay (too classic?), Sand Barrens, and anything else you can throw out there. Mcculloughs is a back up choice and I just played Harbor Pines recently, so that's out. I'd love to play Pine Hill but are they private now? What gives?

I'm bringing guys who've never played near the South Jersey shore so I'm looking for courses that are the most fun, most fun looking, and are in good shape. But aren't we all.

Good choices. I played ACCC a couple of months ago and thought it was in decent shape, but definitely not worth $225. After you get "bent over the barrel" in the pro shop you can spend 4-5 hours in combat fighting off the sand flies and greenheads. I can always say that I've played it though and it was a neat experience going in the locker room and seeing Fred Funk, John Daly's etc...lockers. All of the games greats have played there as well FWIW.

 

I can't speak for the Bay Course but I'm sure it's in just as good of condition as ACCC only much cheaper, and I'm sure the sand flies and greenheads will welcome you just the same. I believe Pine Hill is semi-private so you should be able to get out on the weekdays. Don't quote me on that though.

 

A.C.C.C., Shore Gate, Sea View and Twisted Dunes would make a great trip.
