Should I change my FT-5 setup?

Well, I went to get on the launch monitor today and tried my FT-5 with the stock shaft it came with which is a Fujikura 150 and 2 others, a Diamana and a UST V2. I was using a ProV1. Can someone tell me what all this means? Is there a certain shaft change I should maybe make? It looks to me like the only shaft that keeps my launch angle a little lower is the Diamana, but I lose nearly 10 yards distance and the flight pattern isn't really any tighter. Any other observations or maybe some other shafts I could try? I don't know of any shaft that is going to get my launch down around 13 where it should be, but my driver is a 9* already and if I go any lower I'm only going to spray it further left and right. If it matters, my handicap is 8.

Existing Shaft (Fujikura FitOn 150) Stats:

Club Speed Avg: 107.2

Ball Velocity: 155.7

Launch Angle: 16.5

Ball Spin: 3,259

Carry: 252.6

Total: 285.5

Smash: 145.4

Deviation: Right 9 yards

UST V2 Stats:

Speed: 107

Ball Velocity: 156.7

Launch: 16

Spin: 3,128

Carry: 260.9

Total: 283.6

Smash: 146.5

Deviation: Right 8 yards

Diamana:

Speed: 108.4

Ball Velocity: 153

Launch Angle: 15.4

Spin: 3,127

Carry: 253.2

Total: 275.1

Smash: 141.2

Deviation: 8 yards

launch angle, i would guess is the result of a fade swing. If you constantly leave the face open at impact, the face is generally going to at more of a upwards angle than say if you hit a draw. You could go to a high kick point shaft, like a diamana whiteboard, to potentially bring this down.

In terms of what shaft is the best for you, all the shafts seem markedly similar, with the diamana having a lower spin rate by 100rpm or so, and that can be somewhat expected. Im guessing its a diamana blue shaft, s flex, 75g, so the loss in distance can be attributed to the heavier weight than the e150.

In terms of what shaft is the best, well, the diamana but not by much if anything. Also gonna depend on what kind of swing you have, are you quick at the top or do you have a smooth transition? I know when i gamed the e360 shaft it was wildly inconsistent if i wanted to step on a drive due to its low kick and high torque numbers.

I am quick at the top. I was suprised at how similar all the shafts were and I left there thinking there is no need to change my shaft because it isn't going to make a difference. You are correct on the Diamana Blueboard, that was the shaft I was hitting. I'm thinking I need to try the whiteboard, but according to their web site and my swing speed I'm right on the line of needing an x vs. stiff.

You have 2 threads for the same thing....

Anyways, if you take your club to a clubmaker they will check the CPM and match it up to your swing. They can "tip" the shaft so a stiff plays just a bit stiffer then normal and thus allowing you to have a shaft that is somewhere between a S and a X depending on your swing.
