A couple of shaft questions if you please...

Blueboard in a 3W? And what does tip size do?

First, I recently got an R7 425 with a stiff Blueboard that I hit very well and I'm wondering if that shaft would be a good choice for a TM V steel 3w? If it is, should I go heavier than the 63g that my driver is to maybe a 70 or 80g version? If it's not the right choice, what shaft is that would have the same feel and performance characteristics?

And secondly, is there an advantage of using a driver with a .335" tip dia over a .350"? Extra kick at impact or something else that I'm missing in my TM?

Actually you should look into a few things before you decide the 3 wood shaft. What are you looking for? Higher launch? Less spin? Lower launch? Torque? Just because it works for a Driver, it doesn't mean it will work for the 3 wood. As for the weight, it is safe to use something similar to what you currently have in your 3 wood, but it usually it is heavier then the driver. 73g would be a good start. Also, there are shafts out there that have similar characteristics as the blueboard, for a lot cheaper. Check grafalloy Blue, of an Aldila Proto By You, or even an Aldila NV.

As for the tip size, it has nothing to to with kick at impact. Tip size is mainly the size used by mfg when assembling a specific head. Find out what tip size the 3 wood is. If it is a .335, make sure you get the right tip, otherwise, they would have to shave down a .350, in order to fit on a .335, and by doing so, it may not be even, same goes the other way around. if .350 and you get a .335 shaft, they have to shim it in order to make it work. Since shaft characteristics and price doesnt change because of tip size, make sure to get the right one to begin with.

My question on the tip size of the driver was due to someone else posting that a .335" tip was better in some way to a .350". Just curious if it is and why.

If money is not an issue then you'd be set buying another BB, get something heavier than your driver. I don't know what your SS is but an 83 wouldn't kill you.
