Estate Sale find...

I just picked up a Halo 3i at an Estate Sale for $20. Nice deal, and it should fill the 220yd gap in my bag right now. The problem is that it came with a regular flex stock shaft, when my swing speed dictates a stiff.

I don't have a ton of money to throw at a shaft, so my question is whether I could pick up one of the Adams RPM 3 Woods in Stiff Shaft from Wal-Mart for $18, and have the staffs switched out?

Is this too simple, or would it be an option? I can't find where I could get a decent stiff shaft for less than $25 installed, and this seemed like a logical choice.

Why don't you try hitting it first and go from there?

I can tell you from experience, the stock graphite is awful. Try it, but you'll probably want to change it out.

Be careful, the Ebay link is for a .355 tip, you will need a .370. Perhaps the same seller has them in the .370 tip. Personally, I don't think getting a shaft out of a Walmart club is going to be much of an improvement. If you have access to Golf Galaxy, you can pick up a decent iRod hybrid shaft for about $35.

www.aldilacloseouts.com. NVS and NV hybrid shafts in all weights and flexes for less than 20 bucks. Some in the 10 dollar range.

 

I put an NVS105x into a Sonartec for 18 bucks. Love it

Thanks for the great feedback. I hit this thing this weekend, and it is most definitely the wrong shaft for me. I only paid $20 for the club, so one of those Avila shafts would still keep costs under $40. Not bad for a nice quality hybrid.
