For the club (shaft) ho's out there

I've been trying a number of premium aftermarket shafts out there in all the price ranges. Will the true club ho's who have tried everything please shine some light?!?!

 

All I am looking for is a new shaft that feels as smooth as the 757 but has a higher initial launch with slightly less spin for a 110 mph SS. I'd just get an 757 X (S currently) but I want a higher launch. HELPPPPP

umm yah that might help... sorry I'm not really paying attention I'm watching the Barclays having a few beers. Driver and 75-85 grams is what I'm looking for. Thanks for catching that minor detail haha

My swing speed is not as high as yours but I was getting really high launch numbers with the Epic and Diamana Blueboard shafts with my 104 mph swing and 8.5* hyper x head

the Matrix Xcons are supposed to be high launch low spin as well. In terms of feel I was really digging the Xcon but to each is own.

Same thoughts here. Both in terms of sitting in front of the TV with a tinny and the shaft suggestions above. :)

 

The Diamana shafts have a similar smooth feel to the beloved old 757, and a Blueboard or a Redboard may be worth a trial. A Blueboard may be the more likely option.

 

The Epic shafts I tried also launched pretty high for me and had a solid but smooth feel to them.

 

Fujikura-wise, the 652 is the obvious choice, but it's appreciably lighter (roundabout 65 grams I think) than the 757.

My shaft hoeing is at rest right now since I've met a special person (Diamana Blueboard) but who knows...when I get a new driver...I might get back on the prowl.

 

Love the Diamana and my SS is around 104 as well

Always interesting to hear others results. Thank you guys for your replies. I am a fan of the BB and WB, with the BB being my choice of the 2. For me, I still get better results with the 757 than either of the diamanas. I have no idea why, but I also prefer the feel of the 757. Advantage of the Diamana is shot dispersion (almost none for me), the best way I can describe my ball flight with both of them is a penetrating mid-high flight that looks like it wants to turn over but stays dead straight. Thats what I like to see, but thats no different than I see with the 757.

 

I guess what I'm looking for is something thats going to flatten out (almost like what happens when I hit the ball alittle too low on the clubface if that makes sense) but with the higher launch angle as if I hit it right on the screws. I hope this description is somewhat helpful, I'm having a hard time putting my visual into words...

I really like my Purple Ice X for me it seems to do what you are wanting. It has a lil higher initial launch but seems to flatten out as it reaches it's peak.

I'll tell you this, I have played Xflex WhiteBoards in my last 2 drivers, Burner TP and Tour Burner TP. My current gamer is a 905R with a Voodoo Tour shaft and this thing is a smooth as silk. Love it. Not really sure if its the shaft or the combo but i am in love.... For now at least.... lol

Thats funny you mentioned that combo. I can't keep up with all the Titleist 90whatever Dwhatever, but I've read a ton of stuff about the newer 900D series in general with that voodoo shaft. What gives?

 

For all you Titleist fans out there, which of the 907/909's looks/performs like the 905R? I was dropping some bombs with a 905R w/ NV-75 S a couple years ago at a demo day, but I've always been stuck on my 510TP w/ 757. Also, whats the kick point, torque, and weight of the voodoo's? Help an aspiring ho out (remember, you were all as clueless as me once)
