Got the new driver today in the mail. I haven't even hit it yet, but did demo one of these babies a couple of weeks ago.

Taylormade r7 460, 9.5 set up for Draw right now, Fuji REAX 60 regular shaft.

The honeymoon was long over with the G2. Besides, who can turn down a new driver for $100 less than retail? I can't. Bought it off of eBay for $299 plus shipping.

Now time to take off the shrink wrap and beat some balls.

Hurry up weekend!!!

Well...........................

As you can see, the R7 460 stayed in the bag all of about a week and a half :idhitit:

Demo day was yesterday and the MacGregor rep had a launch monitor. This was the first time I've ever been on a monitor before and it was very interesting. I really wish I would have gotten the print out of my stats. The only thing I remember was my average swing speed was 107. :D I couldn't believe it. Never knew I was that fast. Maybe I was just pumped from being on the monitor.

Anyway I started hitting the MacTec NVG2 tour and really didn't like it as much as the regular consumer version. Crazy thing was, I was hitting the 11.5, 11.5, yes..........the 11.5 only two yards shorter than the 10.5 but my spin rates were way higher on the 11.5 with regular shaft.

Settled on the 10.5, Stiff shaft FUJI. The shaft to me plays more like a regular shaft. I guess that's what that quadra action stuff is all about.

This thing is a rocket launcher.........even on mis-hits. Figure that one out, the clubhead only measures 445 cc.

I've learned my lesson. When you want a new club, get on a monitor. Don't make the mistake of buying something that is totally opposite of what you really need like I did with the R7 460. I have such a low launch angle in my swing, I really needed the higher loft.

Damn! R7 gone so quickly....I'd say it's a sad day, but I've never gotten along with TM's half-moon shaped drivers. Glad to see you have something that's correctly 'Tailored' to your swing :idhitit:

I know, I know........I just can't believe the difference between the r7 460 9.5 and the same club in the 10.5. Had I bought the 10.5, I probably wouldn't have even gone to the demo day yesterday or trade. I just could not get the 9.5 head to get the ball airborne. Factor in the too weak of shaft and I was really screwed.

Getting ready to head to the course with the MacTec, and I can't wait to get out there and out drive my buddies :idhitit:

nice set up bunk. My friend plays the nvg2 and he is killing the ball. Makes me want to take one out for a spin.

fish

It took me a couple of weeks to finally get it lined out, but I am loving it. I am consistantly out driving my playing partners now. I am having to open it up a bit at address, but I am also getting that high fade back that I've always played.

Every shot feels like it was hit dead center. No regrets as far as getting rid of the r7 460. I need that extra little bit of forgiveness.

Have your Eye 2's been refinished or had any work done to them? It could just be the pics but I wanted to ask. I'm thinking about getting my Eye 2's refinished.

I've only had them a year.

Bought them off of ebay. The seller refinished them. Claimed they were "glass blasted". That's a new one on me. They have a different look to them, no doubt. Plus we had snow today so everything looked different outside. :)

That railor is off-the-charts cool...I had a buddy that had one and I saw him hit some amazing shots with it. Nice looking bag.

...nice headcover dude.

I've always wanted one, and found this one on the Bay. Refurbished with headcover. I think I got it for $18 plus shipping. Haven't hit it yet and I plan to play it more like a hybrid. It is a sexy club. I know there are a few guys here still playing them.

Alright, here are some pics of the irons I picked up from yogi. Thanks again Man!

Picked up a nicely used 58 degree Spin Milled on the Bay.

Also, there is a pic of a "Walking Member" tag for those interested in getting one from the USGA. Several seemed interested in the "Walkers Only" thread over in T&L Accessories.....

Later,

Bunk
