Anyone have experience...good or bad?

Hello all....anyone ever purchase any of these weights from either of these guys?

First off...what a feud they have going...rather entertaining.

Regardless...are these things safe for the head...R5, R7? One peice or two?

are the claims accurate...extra yardage?

any info would be helpful.

I have to agree their adds are pretty funny :drinks: , Im also wondering if adding more weight would give such dramatic increases as advertised ....

Yup, Seen those two... there certainly going at it...

 

I was interested in putting a pair of 18 gram weights in my R7 ( old 400cc )... from the guy in the second link, they look like the build quality is a little better than the first guy... the hand scribbled diagrams don't really fill you with confidence.

 

Personally I think the swingweight of the standard is a little light, at least for my taste anyway, but after seeing the prices from the States (I'm in Australia) I just went down to my local taylormade dealer and purchased a pair of 14 gram stock weights... arrived in a week, cost me 40 AUD.

 

In hindsight I'm glad I did, with 2x14 and 2x10 the club has plenty of weight in it for all but the Hulk Hogan's among us, unless you are HUGE or really have your swing grooved I can't really say that you would get an appreciable increase in yardage... I haven't. I just prefer the way the club feels in my hands with the heavier weight.

 

Also, you get you get guaranteed build quality with stock weights + they look better, those 26 gram stainless steel's poking out the back are just damn ugly!

 

A friend of mine hit the club the other day, he nearly put his back out (not kidding) swinging it. So there's your health to think about as well... :drinks:

Wonder if they sell lead tape. I've never had any use for the weights---either threw them away or left them with the dealer for demo purposes. I prefer lead tape better placement than the 4 ports/2 ports supply.
