Which Diamana would be best

Playing Differences Blue/Red 63/73

HI All: this seems to be the place for shaft input and feedback so perhaps y'all can help.

Thinking of getting I-Mix Diamana as seem to be coming our of stratosphere on street prices. It's for my FT-5 Tour and forthcoming FTiQ head, both 9.5

I swing about 90 to 100 (depending on day), miss is over the top pull fade (thankfully ends up in fairway most of time). Fairly quick transition. I currently play a DVS, or Speeder 686.

My favorite shaft of all time was my R510TP 757 SPeeder S flex, like an idiot I sold it.

Anyway, I did get to git an FT9 with I-Mix BLueboard 63g Stiff, just loved it, EXCEPT it felt kind of soft/spongy/gummy - felt it kcik hard, but also kind of noodle like feel. I'm very much a feel player, currently 5.2 HDCP.

IS the feel and ballflight of the Redboard all that different than BLue? What about 63g compared to 73g version? My DVS weighs 65, MOI weights 68 g, speeder is 68g. Would a heavier shaft (73g), less torque be better for my tempo, feel and on the higher MOI heads, or does it play way stiffer than the 63 (which I mentioned flew well, just felt like it was a whip)?

Any input is appreciated....or do I just wait for Fubuki I-Mix (I hit that in stock 63 9.5 Tour FTiQ, was pretty nice, great ball flight, the BLueboard kicked more, or so it felt).

Replacement for the Speeder 757 would be the whiteboard, I would suggest 63g as its a stout shaft.

 

The redboard produces a very high launch, so of the two (if redboard or blueboard are the option fit options) I would recommened the blueboard in 73g.

Can you describe your knowledge or experience with Blue 63/73 shafts? Is the 73 a great deal stiffer feeling / playing than the 63? I thought I hit the 63 well, it jsut felt like a rubber band...much appreciated.

Pretty sure the Blueboard 83 is the 757 replacement among Diamana's. Might have been made to go head to head with it actually.

Yeah, I'd generally agree with that. I've got a SuperQuad with a 757. Played a Blueboard in my 3 wood, and now have a Whiteboard in the 3 Wood and L4V. There is no exact Diamana match for the 757, they are just designed differently and use different materials. The closest match in my opinion is the 73g or 83g Blueboard. Both are mid launch, mid/low spin like the 757. The bluebords do feel different than the 757 in all weights. The Redboard is high launch/higher spin than the 757 and the Whiteboard is lower on both counts.
