Help with my hybrid lofts

I am currently in the process of buying 2 Adams Pro Gold hybrids. I currently carry a 4 wood 17* and I was thinking of purchasing a 3 hybrid 20* and a 4 hybrid 23* and then I carry irons 5-pw (irons are Taylor Made Tour Preferred irons which I believe has 5 iron loft of 27*).

I have read and believe that the hybrid will hit generally a club longer at least for hybrids so I was wondering whether the gap between my 5 iron and 4 hybrid is going to be too great. If this is the case would I be better off purchasing a 3 and 5 hybrid? I believe the loft of the 5 hybrid is 26* but being a hybrid would the distances be a better spread?

any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Generally speaking hybrids are longer than their iron counterparts, mostly due to the graphite shaft that's in them, and sometimes a bit of extra length. However, you can make this gap smaller by using steel shafts in your hybrids. If the lofts are the same as the iron it's replacing, then they should go pretty close to the same distance.

If you are trying to replace the 3 and 4 irons, I might buy the 3,4 and reshaft wth steel, however if you want to stick with graphite, the I might try the 3,5, just be sure that the 5 can fill the distance gap. Just my .02

Why don't you just get the pro gold iron set? The 2 hybrids are almost $500 and the set is $899 and are designed not to have a distance gap. Set up almost the same as TPs with less offset and thinner top line.
