I do not have any specific launch angles or spin rates on the adams driver. I can give you an idea of the overall height compared to some other drivers. I have an Adams A4 tech with 9.5* and the stock Ozik shaft in stiff flex. I am normally a high launch and high spin player and this driver brought my spin down alot. When you have less spin your overall height of your shot is going to fly lower. I hit this driver with a nice mid trajectory with ample roll out. I have an the original Ping Rapture with 9* and a whiteboard 73 stiff shaft. The ping goes higher than the Adams and this is with a low launch shaft like the whiteboard. I have a Titleist 907D2 9.5* with a proforce V2 76 gram stiff. The Titleist is a little lower than the Ping, but still higher than the Adams. The last time I had my swing speed tested it was around 105. This is all subjective information because your swing plane, swing speed and tempo will produce different results. I simply just gave you some comparisons and I do not live near a golf shop with a launch monitor to give you specific numbers. I do think you will like this driver if you get the correct loft as it is very forgiving and long.

I just went through a driver fitting and got the best overall numbers out of the Adams Insight A4 9.5 with the Matrix stiff shaft. Like the previous poster my swing speed is ~105. I am typically a high launch high spin player and struggle with excessive spin in some driver set-ups. My old driver is an original Rapture with a Speeder 757 stiff that has been in my bag for quite a while. (Bought a new driver because I lost the weight pad thingy on the back of the Rapture)

My best numbers with the A4 were:

Swing Speed: 107

Ball Speed: 159.8

Launch: 14

Spin: 3245

I tried all of the newly released drivers with various shafts and the Adams was the best fit for me. The launch was slightly lower and the spin was considerably lower (700-800 rpms) relative to most others I tried.

USGA Index: ~0

It's a very low spin head. I tend to hit the driver too low and deloft the club through impact, so I needed a higher launching shaft to get the ball up with the a4. with the X series Rombax, it's great...gets ball up, but keeps spin down, so ball seems to flatten out, then roll once on the ground. I think the stock Matrix is a sweet shaft, but too low launching for my swing. BTW, I think the lofts are pretty true...my 10.5* doesn't play like a 12* like some other OEMs and the head looks a couple degrees open, so effective launch is even lower.

Woody, to answer your question - no. I was fitted for a driver a couple of months ago. I tested (inside on launch monitors and then took several of the drivers out on the course for extentive testing) all of the major manufacturers with various shafts.

The fitter and I settled in on 9.5* drivers across the board with the exception of the J33R - to get the same sort of ball flight, I needed the 10.5* head on the J33R. The a4 produced a ball flight that was no higher or lower than any other driver I hit (with the stock Matrix Ozik 60-S shaft).

The a4 is in the bag because it provided the best monitor and on course results (goal was to optimize ball speed and spin).

For me, my SS now is 97-101 mph

Ball speed was between 145-150 mph (yes, I did achieve a handful of 1.5 SMASH factors)

Spin: 2200-2500 with the a4

Index: 5.4

Second place in my fitting was the Nike Tour Square 9.5* with a Diamana Blueboard S63 stiff. A tad less dispersion but with less total distance.

Third place in my fitting was the Bridgestone J33R 10.5* with a Diamana Whiteboard D63 stiff. Longest of all but the dispersion was too wide for me.

I LOVE seeing people achieve sub 2500 rpms with a retail club. Thank you Adams for putting out a club that fits us!!!!
