Shaft question

I just bought a Blueboard pull with a raw length of 42"..will this play to standard length in a titleist 3 wood? I will have to prep the tip for a bore through becuase it was a pull from a non bore thru club..someone help me out!!

Hmm.... Which wood are you putting it in? If you look at the head, from the face view, you will see that it shouldnt add more than .25 - .5" installed. I would GUESS that it will play 42.25" or so installed. Well, adding 1/8" for the butt of the grip, to get technical.

How long did you want your 3wd to play? You can always throw a .5" extension in there and not adversly affect performance.

Oh and what are you going to do with the BB 103X that youre playing now? Youre replacing it with a 83gr? If youre selling the 103, let me know.

I am attempting to install in into a 906F4 as a backup. What is standard length for a 3 wood? It should play 42" in a Titleist correct..that just seems short for a 3 wood..

That should be fine. You figure the most popular driver length on Tour is 44.5", so I would GUESS 2" shorter 42.5" would be good. I stay between 42.5" - 43" MAYBE 43.25". You figure you dont want to stay more than 2" behind your driver unless youre playing your driver xtra long for bombing purposes. :)

Of course it's personal preference. Im not saying that +.5" is, or isnt, going to make a quantifyable difference in distance. I use my 3wd mainly for tee shots on short par 4s, not to reach par 5s. When I DO need it on a par 5, Im usually gripping down an inch, or so, for control.
