Anybody play in the D2 or D3? Thoughts?

Anybody hit the D2 or D3 with the Martix Ozik X-con 6? If so, any thoughts compared to the other made for Titleist offerings such as the VooDoo and Diamana?? I'm familiar with the specs and the differences on paper but am wondering if anyone has played them enough to remark. I was only able to demo the VooDoo in the D3 - like the results but not the feel of the shaft, too heavy and "boardy". Liked the feel of the Diamana in the D2 (unable to hit it in the D3) but trajectory a bit too high. So I guess my real question is how the Matrix would perform in the D2 or D3 vs the Diamana. I've hit it in a D3 and a DComp. The Titleist Xcon 6 in the D3 was like a fickle girlfriend experience to me - loved it at first and couldn't get enough, only to discover after awhile I couldn't rely on it when the chips were down (basically, there was a definite point of diminishing return if I really went after it). Determined not to go with a high-end exotic shaft if I could avoid it (don't have time to play all that much - no point in spending $$), I played around with the other stock shafts and heads/lofts and now have a DComp with the VooDoo in it. For what its worth, I liked the Titleist Xcon 6 much better in the D3 than in the DComp (took some spin off it). The VooDoo in the D3 vs. the DComp was pretty much a wash IMO, but the DComp got slighly better trajectory and distance for me (not that you asked about the VooDoo).

 

If you think the VooDoo is heavy and boardy, then you might like the Titleist Xcon 6. It is very smooth, it just seems to have its limits. I'm not the resident expert on shaftology, but it seems to me that someone with a smooth tempo that doesn't put a ton of stress on the shaft would be really happy with this shaft. IMHO it plays about a flex weak - I would have been interested to try it in an X-stiff, and I generally don't go into X-stiff territory if I can avoid it. Someone who is near the limits of a regular flex iron shaft would most likely need a stiff in this driver shaft.

 

Also, if you liked the Diamana in the D2 but thought it flew a bit high, you might want to try that in the D3 - that would probably bring it down a bit, and would also spin less (could be a good or bad thing). Or try the Diamana in a lower loft in the D2 or DComp.
