Off the Courses in Kissimmee Area

Where else to go

For those of you that are local to the area, I am requesting help.

3/19-3/22 I have a group of 8 that will be in the area (West side of Kissimmee) to golf. But you can only golf so much. This weekend is the start of March Madness and I would like to know a local spot to see the games that won't be packed with tourist traffic that won't also charge the tourist prices.

Also any other recommended places a group of 8 men might need to see? :rolleyes:

There are probably 500 sports bars in the greater Orlando area. I think there is a Hooters near where you are going to be that would do, but that time you are speaking of is still peak season for the snowbirds in all of central Florida. No matter where you go it's likely to be quite busy. If the Doll House is still open that might be an interesting place for manly entertainment. Orlando is also chock full of serious steakhouse such as Morton's, Ruth Chris, Flemings, Shula's, etc. Don't know what your golf schedule is like but give some thought to Southern Dunes, Orange County National, Championsgate, and Osprey Ridge @ Disney. Thanks for your suggestions. We are playing Disney Palm and Magnolia. I tried to get the other guys to play Osprey instead of Palm but they didn't want to drive to a second spot We are also playing Mystic Dunes. We got a pretty good deal. 8 guys, 1 3000 sq ft house w/ 5 bedrooms for 4 days 3 nights and two mini van rentals for $330.

As for the sports bar, I am really hoping to find that Diamond in the Rough that all us snow birds don't know about.

How far is Rachael's Steakhouse from there?

That's where I would go atleast once, there is one in West Palm that I went to years ago.

There are several Rachels locations in Orlando. The Ale House wouldn't be a bad place to watch the games. Usually a lot of eye candy there

It really depends on what you want to do. Blue martini at millenia has some good visuals and Tiger has been known to stop in. You can also play glow in the dark putt putt off I drive

For the golf trip, the dress code at the Blue Martini will be a problem. Normally it wouldn't be, but we all pack light which means no pants. Being from WI if it is going to be above 60, we will all be wearing shorts.

We are looking for a fun younger beer and appetizer bar that has the best value of quality food and service and price.

That's the same time frame as the Transitions Championship at Innisbrook. It's a great course and typically has a good field. It would be a 90-minute drive each way, but would be well worth the trip if you wanted to spend a day at a PGA Tour event. And we have Mons Venus here in Tampa. Just Google it and you'll find all you need to know. :D

Hello...for next year!!

a couple of suggestions for Sports Bars that are fun, good food, decent prices...someone else will have to help with other intertainment!!

Town Tavern in Celebration. We would go there to get the Big Ten Channel games. All HD inside around the bar. medium priced!

Beef O'Bradys...Highway 27 just north of I-4 about a mile on the right or south on 192 a couple of miles. If your home is in the Formosa Gardens area Windsor Hills, Windsor Palms, Emerald Island, let me know and I will give you shortcut.

The Pub...great British place with lots of TVs on highway 27 just south of I-4 a mile on the right...great fish and chips, Shepherd's Pie and lots of American Fare.

Good Old ESPN Club at the Boardwalk in Disney is still fun. Be sure to hang around and watch the street entertainers at night and do Jelly Rolls for a great late evening.

By the way if you are just south of Ginn take Ronald Reagan Parkway (one mile south of Ginn resort) west to Highway 27 and Beef O'Brady's is right there just north of the intersection.
