Callaway Giveaway!!! 2 sets of Roger Cleveland Custom made wedges!!!

Recommended Posts

Wow Just Getting the opportunity to meet Roger Cleveland would be amazing, but getting custom made wedges made directly by him with the specs I want Unbelieveable opportunity. This would give me the edge I need to fix my game where I have consistanly struggled and I think it is mostly due to off the rack wedges. Thanks GolfWRX for the chance to win this.

Wow. What can i say. This would be a once in MY lifetime opportunity. Mr. Cleveland is the man. I have never had anything customized and i would play these wedges until the grooves fall off. Then, I would go buy some more Callaway wedges. I always wondered what a custom grind, tour wedge would do to my game. And, i can't wait to find out.

I will take many pics, share my fitting experience from start to finish. I don't have many posts and I hope that doesn't hurt my chances. I am on this site way more than my number of posts reflects. I thank everone for all they do for this site.

Thank you for your consideration. I am pumped for this!

These wedges would mean the world to me. I have been playing golf since I was 7 years old, and am now 33. I started out with cut down clubs that used to be my fathers, and now even though I am able to get fitted and can afford better clubs it still seems like something is missing. To be able to have a set of wedges that were made by a true clubmaker, an innovator in wedge design would be like playing Augusta, or playing golf with Arnold Palmer at St. Andrews. Obviously you would be able to improve your short game, and that is what seperates a good player from a great player, or a good round into a great round. It would be amazing to hit a club comparable to what the pro's play with and really see the difference between what they play and what the average Joe's like us play with. I would love to really see and more importantly feel what the difference is. Hitting a wedge custom made to your specs by Roger Cleveland has to feel better than anyone that is not a pro can even dream about. Everyone says the swing is more important than the equipment, which it is, but more and more each year you see how key playing with the right equipment is. More importantly to be able to pick the brain and gain insight from one of the games most important clubmakers would be more valuable than the actual wedges. I would like to thank you for giving everyone this opportunity. I believe that no matter who wins these wedges, they will appreciate them far more than wedges that Roger makes for the pro's. That is what makes this opportunity so special, I do not think the pro's realize the luxury they have getting any piece of equipment made for them any time they want it.

I would love the chance at having this experience for one reason. Have you ever let a dream slip away. Year after year I always say next year, next year I'll make the move. I believe I have left this too late. Having this opportunity would give me the experience, gratification and the chance to say, "ya know, that was pretty special, I experienced a glimpse at what life might have been like" Now that would be neat, I would just love the chance to feel special for just a moment.

Thanks, WRX!

I've played Cleveland wedges since I started playing seriously. They save me oodles of strokes on misses around the green and out of trouble. When "Cleveland" wedges were no longer "Cleveland", I left too, and now have the real "Cleveland" wedges made by Mr. Cleveland for Callaway. Just the ones semi-off the rack (I added different shafts), with the grooves and Sir Phil design, have me saving strokes all around the green, stopping on a dime or letting it roll out. Custom?, I'd drop a couple more shots.

There is not a whole lot more that I would enjoy than go through a wedge fitting session with Roger Cleveland. Sometimes all of the different specs and options on wedges make my head spin and it seems to me that it is difficult to truly determine what is best for your game without trying all of the different combinations. Being able to chat with Roger and determine what types of wedges will help benefit my game will go a long way to lowering my scores and it would be such an honor and enjoyment. Please, pick me!

Great Contest! My wedge play has always been the worst part of my game. With grass problems at my local course, I have been practicing my wedge game for a hour or two about 3 times a week. This has lead to me also trying out different wedges (ported, different grids, 3 bounces, etc...)

A set of custom made Roger Cleveland wedges is just what I need to help my game.

Drive it long and straight, but have hands of stone around the green and would love to have some amazing wedges to get me focused on the scoring part of the game!

This would be a awesome honor to be the distinguished recipient of the legend Roger Cleveland wedges. Ever since Roger has been apart of Callaway Golf, I have been playing his irons and wedges...plus it would match my custom Callaway prototype blades. I believe he is the worlds greatest golf clubmaker especially the current MD wedges. Roger's MD wedges are definitely stroke savers, if your looking for spin, control and shot making ability. Roger's the man that can provide that club for you. This would be a dream come for a old former mini tour player and PGA Tour wanna be. If I am the winner of this prestigious opportunity to receive Roger Cleveland custom wedges. I will make a oath to never play or purchase another wedge designed by any other golf clubmaker or golf club manufacture. I will make sure every kid and golfer I come in contact with knows that Roger Cleveland and Callaway Golf are the greatest clubmakers in golf history.

Thanks GolfWRX for this once in a lifetime chance to win these Roger Cleveland custom wedges.

First time post. Thanks for the chance to be considered for the wedge experience...

I would want these wedges for:

the 40 yard sand shot from the front bunker on #1

the shot from down the slope over the back of #2 where you are 40 feet below the green surface

the 60 yard pitch over the creek to the front pin on #3 that needs to stop NOW

the 10 yard shot from a downhill lie in the tiny little bunker at the front of #4 to a pin that is 10 feet on the green

the chip up over the hogs-back and back down hill to the back right hole location on #5

the flop from the down-hill side-hill lie on #6 that I always seem to shank

the same shot on the par-3 #7

the bunker shot on #8 from long left bunker down the slope to the front left pin that I can't hit at the hole and hold the green

the chirping stop and trickle down the sloping away from you grade to the front hole location on #9 from just in front of the green

the 80 yard pitch from a 30 degree uphill lie in the rough on #10 that I get when I try to drive the second fairway and don't quite make it

the flop over the left hand bunker down the grade to the right back hole location on #11 that always runs off the green

the chip and run that I can never get to run all the way to the back hole locations on #12

the flop I need from the rough high above the left of the green on #13

the chance to finally get one to stop close the hole when the pin is purched on top of the mound in the middle of #14 green

the chip and run from the collection area short and right of the par 3 #15

the punch and stop I need to hit over the bunker but under the tree limbs from short and right of #16

the shot where I need to deaden a chip from the right of #17 into the edge of the green to take enough off of the shot so that the ball gets close

the flop from behind #18 I need to keep the ball from running off the front

What it would mean to me to spend time with an expert such as Roger Cleveland: The chance to learn the whys of why things work in the wedge game. Why for example is my gap wedge my favorite wedge?. What is there in the grind, weight, loft, bounce, grooves, shaft, grip that makes it feel so lively. Why is it that of all the clubs I have, I can control the trajectory and spin so well with this wedge more than the any of the others? What is it that I don't grasp when I try to apply the same principles to my other wedges? The opportunity to apply such nuance to the myriad of wedge shots I hit in a round would bring greater enjoyment of the game.

Thanks again.

Why would I want custom wedges from the innovator of the most often imitated designer of wedges?

Well for one thing it would remove all other excuses regarding my short game. I could no longer blame the arrow or should I say bow and have to blame the archer.

I'm really not that bad but this would be the impetus to really dedicate to improve and lower my scores.

First of all, thanks for a very generous giveaway. I would love a chance to play wedges that allowed me to get the most out of my short game (sure couldn't blame my clubs anymore  ) and were honed by a master craftsman. I've often dreamed of having an opportunity to play what the pros play and though I don't have their level of game I do have the desire to play the best I can just as they do. It would be an honor to be able to have clubs that Mr. Cleveland himself had his hands on. Thanks again.

Who wouldn't want a Roger Cleveland custom ground wedge? I would want these two wedges for so many reasons, but my number one reason would be to see a craftsman at work first hand. As a golf enthusiast I enjoy regripping my own clubs even putting an occasional shaft in a driver or fairway wood, but to see a designer hand grind a custom wedge and on top of it to my spec, that would be any golf/equipment enthusiast dream. As an armature wedges are so important to my game from around the green 100 yards and in I would want these wedges for the added confidence, and inspired creativity they would bring to my game.

To have a set of custom ground wedges by Roger Cleveland with the same attention to detail and quality that so many tour players rely on would be an honor and a experience I would truly cherish for a lifetime. When it comes to our golf equipment not many of us get to experience the same level of attention to detail inside the ropes that a tour player does. Most of us buy off the shelf equipment and hope for the best, and then being a left handed player even fewer options are available. It would mean the world to me to finally have some quality tour caliber equipment in the bag. These would definitely be a prized possession I am excited just to have a chance to participate in the contest.

I thank the sponsors and Golfwrx for this opportunity.

My current gamer wedge grooves are worn to almost nothing. I will treat the new ones kindly, and when the grooves are done, they will be displayed over my fireplace in a glass box. I have never broken a club in anger in my life. That, and I have played Cleveland wedges for my entire golf life since I was 9. And I'm 39 now. 2009 Q School, here I come. :good:
