2005 ProV1 & ProV1x.....anyone review/compare?

to 2004 models

Has anyone done on course comparisons of the 2005 Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls comparing them to the 2004 models? I'm curious if they are really different or if it's just the boxes that have changed? :D

I've been playing the 2004 Pro V1x and like those. I have heard strong opinions both ways on the new 2005 Pro V1 and am really curious about that ball. :vava:

i played the old pro v1x for a little more than a year pretty consistently. this year i switched to the new pro v1, and i will tell you that i am hitting it further and loving the feel of the ball. haven't even tried the new pro v1x, cause i love the pro v1 so much and i get them for the same price. give them a try, you will be pretty amazed

There's a review somewhere in this forum by SirShanksAlot on the new ProV's. He said something about how the 2004 ProV1x's are the same as the 2005 ProV1's except renamed/stamped. I personally haven't tried the new ones yet even though I have a couple dozen of them from tournaments because I've still got so many of last years model, all brand new. :vava:

i used the old pro v1x but have changed to the new pro v1 because the x was to hard IMO and i couldnt get enough spin with around the greens to keep in the bag.

The new pro v1 is the perfect ball IMO because it has great distance off the tee but also gives you great feedback around the greens.

IMO I liked the 2004 versions better but thats probably something to do with my swingspeed (100-110 depends on how well im feeling :vava: ) My reasons for this are that with the 2004 Pro V1 I could get a lot of spin with on my iron shots which I loved. The 2005 Pro V1 doesnt quite have the same amount of spin and I'm not getting the suck back I used to have :blink:

 

Again the 2004 ProV1x was another good ball for me. It gave me a little more distance that the normal Pro V1 but I could also get the ball to stop. It would not spin back but it was just stop. With the 2005 version I'm not getting any stop at all. It's actually releasing about 1-2 metres :D

 

I wish I could still get the 2004 versions where I live because I could hit a lot more shots with them :cheesy: Off to find a new ball....
