Any love for the Titleist DT Carry?

I find stuff in the woods all the time. Loads of Titleist, Cally, some Taylor Made, a few Bridig (330 nice) & Srixon (sadly just a few), loads of Nike, Top Flite, Pinnacle, Noodles, a few Wilsons, etc.

I am a high handicapper shooting in the 90s. I generally buy Wilson 50/50, Wilson Staff 360 (cheaper but good ball) or Top Flite D2 Distance or maybe Feel. I have loads of Titleist including Pro V1s (too much spin for me on drivers) and ProV1x - nice ball. All sorts of NXT's too which are so so for me.

I have been finding tons of DT Carrys and they are indestructible but they are not bad. When I first hit them I was not too impressed but they have grown on me.

Long, pretty straight, spinny, soft enough off irons, ok on wedges with decent spin and they putt fairly well. Anyone like them?

i like them too. for an inexpensive ball they suit my game just fine. :-)

meh--too expensive for a 2-piece ball. there's no good reason to pay $21/doz for DT Carry's when you can buy a much superior ball like a Maxfli Tour Fire for $15/doz at Dick's. Dick's is also selling Noodle+'s for $25 for 2 dozen, which are also better than the DT Carry, imho. for that matter, Acushnet's own Pinnacle Exception can be had for $20 for 2 dozen, and it kicks the crap out of the DT Carry. and if you want to go really cheap, you can buy the grandmother of all modern low compression, soft feel 2-piece golf balls--the MC Lady (formerly known as the Precept MC Lady) . . . Dick's is selling them for $12 for 2 dozen.

after the death the the so-lo, i really wanted to like it...but i don't. it just does not do anything for me. And, as someone else here said, there are better balls for cheaper (333, 50/50, d2 feel). But for those who have to play a titleist...go for it.

I found one on the course and played with it for 9 holes to just try it out on a whim. It was great off the tee and very straight. Felt decent off the irons but I did not like it around the greens on on short approach shots. Difficult to hold it on firm greens with approach shots. I normally play a three or four piece ball with a softer cover for these reasons. If I was looking for a good two piece ball at a cheap price there are certainly just a good or better balls for less money. I thought the Nike Juice was a better all around ball for less money.

I think they feel pretty decent but could not get them to stop

still they are good for the price.. deff a winter ball of choice for me.

Found one in the parking lot at the course today. Hoping it was just misplaced and not dropped on purpose. Will get back to you Monday or Tuesday if it doesn't find water on #1.

 

My understanding is what has been written already. Decent ball that is engineered to have a little lower ball flight and roll further than other balls. Won't give you drop and stop on greens like a Pro V1, but might give you a shot to the green that is 10 yards closer than that Pro V1. Could be a good ball for a lot of people. I would opt for something different for my game as I don't need the distance - I need straight and/or control around the greens.

 

In retrospect I wish my find had been a Pro V1 or a B330 Tour....

i liked the dt carry much better than the dt roll. but now that the nike tours are on-sale, i will be going to those.
