ball review

Well over the season i have been on a ball hunt you can say and these are my findings. Here are the follwing balls that i tested on the course: TM Red, Itour,IXtour, prov1, prov1x, srizon zstar, E6, bridgestone 330s, 330rx.

TM RED: Did not like the ball at all. felt very heavy and didnt spin all that well. was pretty much the same in distance off the driver. It did feel ok off the putter. not durable

Itour:Decent ball overall, good spin on all shots. was just okay in distance off the driver but it takes time to get use to putting with it. it seems like u have to give it alittle more pop then the others.good durability

IXtour: very good ball off the driver and irons for distance. actually had some decent spin on greenside chips and full shots. it does roll out alittle more then the itour but by much. to me it felt alittle better off the putter then the itour.good durability

prov1: great feel off the putter along with all other clubs. was just average in distance and the spin was as expected. below average in durability

prov1x:again good overall ball, with good distance and feel off all clubs including putter. it also had good greenside spin with just slight roll out. below average in durability

zstar:wanted to like it but couldnt. felt like a marshmallow off the clubs and was short off the tee. i expected amazing greenside spin but it was average. i usually got a roll out, definitely didnt spin like the prov1 or the itour.

e6:overall probably the best ball for someone who just wants to hit the ball reasonably straight and who doesnt care about spin. ball had a good feeling off all clubs and had good distance. it did lack green side spin, it looked like it wanted to check up but then would roll out. good durability.

330s:another ball i really wanted to like but it was just ok. had ok distance off the tee with decent feel on all clubs. It did have good greenside spin and ok durablilty, but didnt fall in love with it.

330rx:had high hopes with all the hype but overall i think this ball is a failure for bridgestone. ball had ok distance but wasnt longer then any of the others. had ok feel off all clubs but lack greenside spin. durability was ok but i think i would rather play the e6. it def. doesnt play like a preminum ball and for the price not worth it.

srizon urs:decent overall ball. average distance good feel and decent spin. and durable. i actually think its a better ball then the zstar.

Driver distance ranking: IXtour/prov1x/e6/330s/330rx/tm red/prov1/itour/urs/zstar
Greenside spin:prov1/itour/330s/ixtour/prov1x/urs/zstar/tmred/330rx/e6
putter feel:prov1/prov1x/330s/urs/zstar/ixtour/e6/330rx/tmred/itour
low spin driver:ixtour/prov1x/e6/330rx/tmred/330s/prov1/itour/urs/zstar

Now again this is personal opinion and these balls were played numerous times on different occassions. the scores for all the balls averaged from 80 to 86, with the ixtour getting the low score of 78 and the prov1 getting a score of 79.

hopes this helps, next i will be testing the new nike balls along with tmblack 330 and the zstar x for the next month. will keep posted

Good reviews! If you have a chance, could you post a little info about your swing speed, ball flight, etc.?

sure im a 9hcp. Driver swing speed is low 100's but when i want i can get it around 110-112. i play a fade and have a mid to high ballflight and am a moderate spin player. equipment: ft-9/mizuno 200/vokey52,56/60/ and a rife putter/cobra hybrids

Thanks for sharing your experience with these balls. I had similar findings and am playing the 09 ProV1s as a result.
