contracts to cover the tour cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ask the The Golf Channel :idhitit:..only one way to pay for that... sell commercials. If they just get rid of the " feelgood" stories I would be happy too.

Woods : Callaway Razr TA, Titleist F3-05
Hybrid : Adams LSP XTD
Irons : Fourteen TC910 3&4I, Nike VRProCombo 5-PW
Wedges : Fourteen RM-11 54/60
Putter : Nike Method 003 Oven

We need some dumb billionaire to get golf on a PPV channel. Just a stripped down show of all golf shots, not a lot of commentary and certainly nothing extra. No commercials.

Only about 25 of us would love it enough to pay for it, so that's why we need the dumb billionaire (any such thing?).

...

There has to be a middle ground, right? It would be nice to get more golf coverage. But instead of another thread of TNT, CBS, NBC, whatever sucks, how about someone post some fresh ideas of how they would do golf coverage. Tivo (record) a round of golf on TV and without cutting out a single commercial, and without taking away from the flow of what's going on with the leaders, how do you get in more golf. It's not as easy as it sounds.

Personally, I don't mind major network coverage but it's when USA or TNT gets a hold of Thursday/Friday coverage of a big tournament and they butcher it with Ernie Johnson and Fran Charles. Long segments of no golf shots and useless commentary has got to go.

I agree, the US coverage is terrible. The British coverage (BBC) is usually a lot more watchable and the commentators tend to have a little more integrity when it comes to making points or observations. The Sky coverage of the European Tour is also good although there are too many commercial breaks.

The one thing that bugs me about US television in general is how they go over the same thing several times in one broadcast, replays of the same thing or going over the same points several times.

I definitely think that the American network coverages of the LPGA and PGA tournaments are a joke. They love to show footage of something we could all care less about. I want to see the pros playing golf. Not listen to some "thinks-he-knows-it-all" talk about the greens and how pretty they are. I hate missing shots because the camera crew decided that scanning the crowd is more important. :WTF: And only 2 hours of coverage???? What the f :stop: k is that??? :D

It's good to hear I am not the only one. In Australia the coverage is great. They actually show a hole bunch of groups play the whole hole. The drives then off to another for their second shots then to another for the putts then back to the second shots of the group that was on the tee, then to a disaster or something special......... no blah blah blah "when I was on the tour" crap. I hope the powers to be wake up to what the punters want. Makes better economic sense too.

... and how come the golf channel needs 6 presenters for their "Live from the Masters" show???!!! :stop:

The show started with two guys in front of a bush that said a few words and then went to some guy on a pathway who said a few more words and then it went to that guy from "In The Bag" and he said a few words then it went to some guy in the studio who said a few words before handing over to Kelly Tilghman in another studio!!!!

It's a joke
