Scotty Cameron Putters - Do you think they should be heavier?

It seems the only way to get a heavier SC putter is to get the 33 Length and that is only available in the Newport 2 (assuming you like that style and not the mallet).

Are older SC putters all 330g?

Can a golf shop get an older Newport style in a heavier version?

Do the Pros use a heavier version of the stock putter? :stop:

I notice that a lot of you buy several SC putters.

Your reasons:

It's fun to collect them? I start to feel the putter does not work and that is why I choose a different one? Just curious :shout: since alot of you buy variations of the Newport model.

well, heavier newport putters ARE available, but i believe it is pretty rare to find, but i saw one on the BST,

anyway

putters like Futura, Studio Designs/circa 62 are only available in the same weight, while others are available in different weights,

and i think all the putters should be that way..

and 330 grams isn't too bad, 2-ball putters are much lighter, so if you think it's a bit light, a bit of lead tape would do the job

and if you are able to and willing to, collecting cammys should be A LOT of fun!!!

my PP newport mil spec is 350 grams..

The vast majority of putters out there are not 350 grams. Putter weight plays into swing weight which is optomized to length of the putter. The "standard" putter length in the States is 35". Most manufacturers consider optimal weight of such a putter is ~330 grams. Titleist/Scotty Cameron is one of the few Major OEMs that I know of that even offers 350g versions on their retail line. The Red X, Milspec, Futuras, etc.
