Looking to change shaft in 13* G5

steel to graphite?

Ok so the story goes like this.......My dad bought a 13* steel shafted G5 to fill the gap he had with his 5 wood (a T-isi Tec) and turns out he cant hit this for crap.So he offers it to me cause i have the Fast swing and can hit it. Which i can very well but i just want a little more height.Yes its 13* but i was thinking of having it reshafted with a Graphite shaft to get that little higher launch.so....................

Any suggestions?I do like the heavier feeling in my fairway woods.Anything is helpful!

You can reshaft to graphite, but there are going to be swing weight issues depending on the shaft you choose.

 

Steel shafted clubs have lighter heads to keep the swing weight down. Graphite shafted clubs have heavier heads to get the swing weight up.

 

You're going to either have to play it longer than it is now with graphite or get the head hotmelted when you reshaft to graphite (unless you go super heavy graphite like HK pro 110, in which case you'd probably be better off playing steel).
