Going OG with my MP-33

My first WITB because of my never-ending rotation of clubs. After five sets of irons, I'm going back to my MP-33. I found this set a couple of weeks ago and aside from a few dings in the soles, they are cherry. There is no noticeable face wear and only the grips (original) needed replacement. What's worse than a club ho? A club ho-arder! But this current setup has a pretty good chance of staying put for a couple of months. Let me know what you fellas think and thanks for looking.

MP-33s back...

Here's 9015D with a Devotion 7 and a classic TM V-Steel.



White grips - I regripped the 33s with the Lamkin Performance Plus 3GEN.



This old dog does hunt. I rescued this BB1 short slant with a sound slot a couple of months ago. She will be going to the Betti Nip and Tuck shop for a full blown restoration in January. I'll be playing with the new BB8 until she comes back.



The milling in the BB1 insert needs a lot of work.


The BB1 has the green Winn while the BB8 has the Iomic mid.

Good bag. The MP-33's are excellent irons and the V-steel is a classic. Extra bonus points for a steel shaft in the V-steel too! I haven't had a chance to play the MP-T wedges yet, but from what I gather, they're pretty good. Solid set up . What fills the gap twixt 3-wood and 3-iron though?

I love the look of the mp-t10s everytime i see them i fall in love with them again
and the bettinardis are awesome! the milling on the faces is so beautiful i love them.

I usually just choke down on the 3-wood. I have Callaway Steelhead III 5-wood head that I'll be reshafting soon with a steel shaft.

It's actually more closer to the Tour Velvet just more tackier and a little more cushion. I like them a lot.

The MP-T10 wedges are step up from the older MP-T model in terms of spin. The C grind is almost exactly as the T and the spin has definitely increased with the new grooves. If you're looking for spin like the Vokeys SM or Cally MD then the T10 will fall short. Also, the grooves are not as punishing on the covers of tour style balls. I can cheese grate any tour ball with full shots using a new Vokey SM but the T10 will only leave groove marks. The satin finish is amazing and I wish my MP-33s had the same finish to reduce glare in sunny days.

The V Steel is a classic. I much prefer this size head for a 3 wood than the current OEM offerings with the huge heads. No problems hitting off the deck and I am actually am thinking about changing the shaft to lower the spin.

Very nice bag. I am digging the mizzy blades. How do you like the new Bettinardi BB8? I have a Mizuno Bettinardi and would like to know how they compare.

Devotion is a great shaft especially with the cost. It will play closer to a whiteboard after tipping it at least half an inch. IMO, the devotion spins more .

I've been gaming it since last November. Once I got used to the softer feel from stainless (like my SC Select Newport 2), been putting with confidence. I had a C03 and I like the BB8 more.
