Expiration time on forum index pages

either immediate or very short - moderately annoying

The index pages expire as soon as you click away from them - so you're looking at the equipment forum or some such, see a thread that grabs your interest and click, very quickly realize it isn't interesting, click "back," NOPE. Page is expired. So now you click refresh, then you're asked if you want to resend data and blah blah blah, then you see the forum index page again. That's fairly annoying. If they would at least not expire for 30-60 seconds or so it would make browsing through much less cumbersome.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but if you get Cool Previews you can look at a link without leaving the page you're on. It opens the link in another smaller window on top of your current page. Then you can close the smaller window when you through looking at the link and still be on your current page. Pretty good stuff. I hope this helps.

IE7, IE8, and the Blackberry Bold browser - started happening on all after the recent forum update, doesn't seem to be browser-dependent.

Either way, this is not a forum issue in any form, all browsers do this behavior with forms and going back the page that form sent you to will always result in a expired page with a box asking to resend data.

Didn't happen before the forum software was upgraded on 3 seperate browsers, all of which are unchanged from before the forum upgrade. Obviously I'm not familiar with all forum software (and certainly not this one,) but the few I've set up had adjustable expiration periods for the index pages. Go to any forum you can think of, and from the index page while looking at a list of threads click a thread - then click "back." You'll be hard pressed to find one that tells you the page is expired, aside from this one. And as mentioned, this one did not exibit this behavior before the recent upgrade.

Note - I'm not trying to be a know-it-all or turd, just wanted to make sure what I'm trying to describe is clearly understood.
