If every driver they make goes longer teh pros should be hitting it what? 500 yards by now...........what a joke.
TaylorMade is not the only company to make that claim. Callaway, TEE, Adams, make the same claims.
..and the fact that many of us buy these claims over and over makes us what?

I don't purchase clubs based on that claim but I know what you mean. If it was true there wouldn't be a par five on the planet long enough. Driver - wedge.

For me its about consistency. Ball speeds spread across a reasonable piece of the face, predictable shot shapes, etc. Distance is very similar with almost all of these drivers for me (clubhead speed 108ish avg), and in tournament situations its all about consistency.

TM sure is good at building hype each and every year for all the drivers they bring out. Every year it's the end all be all.

I'm in trouble, my new Adams Speed FAST 10 might be out of the bag already. As ugly as it may be to some, the new TM Burner SuperFast is awesome. In fact, though an odd shape, I don't find it ugly or distracting at all during address. All I know is that it's the easiest driver to hit. I was a Taylormade man until my new Adams experiment. TM and all their crazy shaft/weight crap turned me off. My last driver was the 07 TM Burner with the Pro Launch Red and it was a solid club for me. I really like the Adams, but the new Burner, albeit odd looking takes the cake. Long and forgiving. My ball speed with the Adams was on average around 135-140. I was consistently 155-160 today with the Burner. BTW, they are going for $219.99 new in plastic on EBay. I'm getting one tomorrow.

I'm constantly baffled as to why Taylormade are criticised for bringing out new gear. As long as it all works, who cares?
People also seem to think it's a sin for a large company to have a good marketing department.
If you like something, buy it, if not, don't. Don't see why a company should be bashed for wanting to make money.
People have their own opinions I guess.
